Yamato Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Batesville

I order over the phone and I paid for my order over the phone. When I get to the restaurant to pick up my food, I waited at the counter for 4 minutes before anyone walked in my direction. As the waiter walked toward my direction two women came in behind me. Mind you I was making eye contact with the waiter because I though he was going to assist me with order first. He simply walk right past me and seated the other women. I hate to pull the race card but I can’t help myself to not believe my skin color vs theirs was the reason. However, I will never eat at Yamato ever again. I work hard for my money therefore I will just spend it somewhere else were the customers service isn’t discriminating. The food is 5 stars. The service is 5 stars. The atmosphere is 5 stars. The bathroom is always clean, at least each time I go in. That's a big deal. Their Hibachi is always great. Steak, shrimp chicken, it's always cooked to perfection. I always recommend the steamed gyoza, the sweet chili shrimp, or the edamame as appetizers. The sushi rolls are out of this world, though. My go tos are the fried Superman, the Louisiana roll, the Ole Miss roll, or the super crunchy roll. They are my favorites. I'm still making my way down the sushi menu to add more to my favorites list. Everyone is so friendly and the service is great. I will always recommend it!

The only reason I gave it that one star is because I had to at least give one star to post my review. I was excited to find this place when I searched for hibachi online but my experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. The service was terrible. It wasn’t welcoming. My food was stale and when I told them about it they basically told me I was lying and wanted proof so I brought the food that I had just walked away with back so they could see for their self. They were unwilling to remake it. They really ruined my entire love for Japanese food. Absolutely would NOT recommend!
