Café Olé Restaurant & Cantina — Restaurant in Batesville

This is my favorite restaurant to enjoy a meal and visit with friends. The food is good. I say "good" bc it's hit and miss. It depends on who is manning the grill. Also, the menu just changed a bit -i prefer the old menu. Shredded beef instead of grilled steak on quesadillas? Just "no."

The seating is comfy & it's family friendly. The dining area and lady's restroom are clean.

The happy hour margaritas are undrinkable some days. They need to fix that.

The wait staff and manager add to the fun... they have a lot to do with why I enjoy meals with friends at Cafe Ole! But when you can't enjoy a margarita at a Mexican restaurant, that's just not right. Consistency with food and drink is something they need to improve upon.

I would like for them to start doing tableside guac and salsa bc some people are allergic to cilantro or they hate it, which means no salsa or guacamole for them. I'd also like to see a better/wider selection...

We stopped in Batesville and our way home from New Orleans.We didn't have much of an appetite because we had been eating pretty heavily for the previous four days, but needed something to tide us over until breakfast. The desk clerk suggested Cafe Ole, so we stopped in for a Margarita and some soup. I had the Mexican Gumbo, and my wife enjoyed the Chicken Tortilla soup. OMG, they were both delicious! After a couple of disappointing Gumbos in the Big Easy (too much rice and too little meat in those Gumbos), I was blown away with the meats in this one, beef, chicken, and shrimp. Very tasty. My wife couldn't stop raving about the Chicken Tortilla, either. Gotta find a way to get...

As always when I'm craving authentic Mexican food this is my go to place in Batesville, MS! The staff are always so nice and helpful and David is a true friend! So if you want to feel like your on the Boarder forget the fake Taco Bell and other restaurants in Batesville that claim to have real Mexican food, Go to Cafe Ole, you will not be disappointed! One of my favorite things to get is the Super Enchiladas, you get 5 that are filled with cheese, chicken, beef and shredded beef! It's all topped with their famous cheese dip and sòooo delicious and not to mention you have enough for your lunch and supper or at least a midnight snack!
