Josephine's — Restaurant in Bath (Berkeley Springs)

I've been going in that place for a good 13-14 years before it was Josephines and every person that is working there now is solid. It is now a GAMBLING place. It is not run as a bar to just get drunk at or staffed to be a restaurant. there is a small menu to refuel us gamblers. A couple of these reviews are so twisted with many missing details, its shameful! Gives strangers the totally wrong impression with those missing details. The machines being rigged? really? Their machines are controlled and monitored around the clock by the WV Lottery just like all the other places so the only ones that can rig it would be the state. Roxy can be feisty when done wrong but she is a woman with a heart of gold and loves her customers. If you treat her good, she will treat you great. She would not run someone off of a machine. why??? I wish that review was more detailed because there would be no point in that since the staff can't play them even off-duty. There is definitely something missing. To the reviewer about her socializing with customers in the ticket cashing area and you having to reach around them, a lot of us like to talk to the staff and it is not a tight area when it is NOT busy. I have seen her ask people to move if it is busy though so it is not just you. If you are just standing there in the spot she counts and it is busy with people cashing out or grabbing snacks while she is waiting to get a phone call to fix your machine to get your ticket (which is what happened), of course she asked you to move somewhere else while waiting. the $30 tip was practically dirt with what I heard was won. some people (myself included) tip that much when winning 1/10 of that amount. Go ahead and go to the other place, I love the staff there too but I bet they would not do anything...

THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS PLACE IS SCOTT, ROXY AND BETTY. ONE OF THE BARTENDERS THAT WORKS IN THE EVENINGS HAS A VERY FOUL MOUTH AND IS EXTREMELY RUDE. AND THE FOOD ISNT AS GOOD AS IT USE TO BE. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE OWNER AND SHE COULD CARE LESS. EVEN OTHER EMPLOYEES HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT HER AND NOTHING IS DONE. THE OWNER WONT EVEN CALL ME BACK.......... I USE TO GO THERE CAUSE I LIKED THEIR FOOD AND TO SEE MY TWO FRIENDS THAT WORK THERE, BUT NOW I WILL NO LONGER GO THERE...... I FOUND A BETTER PLACE THAT IS CLEANER AND THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE CARE ABOUT...

Roxy is the reason I will not go there Wednesday thru Friday. Cares more about socializing than doing her job. Told me to get out of the way while waiting to be paid for a machine problem. 2 days later, she was talking to someone in the same area for payouts, had to reach around someone she was talking to. He was not told to step aside. Gave her a $30 tip previously, never again. Go to a nearby competitor on those days as I will not support an unfriendly establishment with rude or...
