I've never been an ihop girly. But my mom wanted it, so me, her, & my sister went.
We were seated at a booth as soon as we arrived.
Shortly after being seated, a young lady named Yolanda asked if anyone had been by to take our orders & we said not yet; we'd just sat down. So she asked what we wanted to drink & we told her. She advised us who our waiter would be & stated they'd be by soon. We thanked her.
Shortly after, a lady named Shelly walked over & asked how we were and if everything was going well. We told her yea, we'd just gotten there. She told us about some menu items. One of the things she suggested was what I ended up getting. It wasn't on the regular menu. So it was nice that she came over to tell us. She let us know if we needed anything else to let her know.
A waiter named Ationnia came over just moments later. She apologized for taking so long, which we assured her she didn't. We'd been there no more than 5 minutes & she was the 3rd person to assist! That's almost unheard of! But a great look!
She took our orders and told us she'd be back shortly.
A server named Brandon brought the food out. He was very polite, also!
The food... soooo good! I ordered some new drink they had with a popsicle in it lol. I realized it tasted like regular lemonade until you let the popsicle melt in it. I probably wouldn't try it again, but the food... I'd eat it every time!
My mom and sister both enjoyed their meals also.
The prices were super reasonable. But, what stood out most is the service. It was exceptional - not iust by our waiter - but by EVERY employee we encountered!
We later learned through convo that Shelly is the owner. & also that Ationna had just started. It's rare to see a new employee so attentive and knowledgeable. & it's even rarer to see an owner step in & help with the actual WORK; let alone doing so with grace.
Off the strength of the service alone, I'd give this place a 5/5! And the food is a solid 4!
A lot of business owners and employees could learn from visiting this place.
I've never been an ihop person, but this Day made me reconsider! Shelly now runs the one on college, as well! So if you're ever in the mood for ihop, I highly recommend the one on Harding or college! ALL OF THE EMPLOYEES & THE EMPLOYER WERE EXCEPTIONAL!!!
Check out the pics of our food!!!

This place used to be one of my go-to breakfast stops, but over the last year or so, it’s taken a noticeable turn for the worse. What was once a reliable, comfortable spot with friendly service has become a disorganized and disappointing experience that no longer feels worth the time or money — even at its lower price point.
The most distracting thing during visits is the manager’s behavior. It’s not just the occasional phone call; it’s full-blown, dramatic speakerphone conversations that echo throughout the restaurant — often about personal or workplace issues that guests definitely don’t need to hear. It sets an unprofessional tone right from the start and makes it hard to enjoy a meal.
The wait staff, while not outright rude, tend to be inattentive and disengaged. You can sit with an empty cup for half your meal and rarely get a refill without flagging someone down. Plates and utensils sometimes sit uncollected, and the sense of urgency or pride in service that used to be here is gone. It feels like everyone’s just going through the motions.
As for the food, the quality has dropped significantly compared to other nearby locations. Pancakes are frequently undercooked and arrive lukewarm, eggs are inconsistent, and sides often taste like they’ve been sitting under a heat lamp. Breakfast staples — which should be simple and satisfying — somehow end up disappointing almost every time. The temperature and texture issues make it clear that quality control in the kitchen isn’t being prioritized.
On the positive side, it’s still reasonably priced, and when everything lines up just right, you can get a decent meal for cheap. But honestly, if affordability is the only highlight, that’s not much of a selling point anymore. Even Waffle House, which has its own reputation for chaos, manages to deliver hotter food, friendlier service, and a more consistent experience.
In short, this restaurant feels like it’s coasting on what it used to be, not what it is today. A little management focus, staff retraining, and attention to kitchen standards could easily turn things around — but until that happens, there are much better breakfast options in...
Read moreI recently had an unpleasant experience at IHOP that left my family feeling ignored and disappointed. When we first arrived, we weren’t even acknowledged for about 15 minutes. The server made a point of taking orders from the tables next to us but completely skipped over ours. When we finally got her attention, another staff member reassured us that someone would be right with us – but, unsurprisingly, it was the same server who had passed us by.
Once she finally came to take our drink order, things didn’t improve. After we ordered a drink that wasn’t available, she replaced it without even offering alternatives. We then had to ask for a different substitution, which felt like an inconvenience. When it came time to order food, she rushed through the process and didn’t even ask if we wanted to order something for our child. By then, about 30 minutes had passed, and my son was getting quite impatient.
When our food arrived, the experience went from bad to worse. My 2-year-old said “thank you very much” as the server placed the dishes on the table, but she didn’t respond in any way—not even a simple “thank you” or an acknowledgment of his politeness. She just walked away, leaving us feeling like an afterthought. We didn't get the can we offer you anything else.
We asked for boxes to take the food to go.
The food itself was great, but honestly, we had to take it to go because we felt so unwelcome. By the time we got home, the meal was cold, and the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths. It’s a shame because a simple acknowledgment and basic customer service could have made this an entirely different visit. I shouldn’t feel ignored and rushed when simply trying to enjoy a meal...
