Sir Pizza — Restaurant in Battle Creek

The pizzas here are most definitely the BEST pizza I've EVER had. Normally, when-ever my fiance & I decide we want to have Sir Pizza, majority of the time will call in ahead of time & pick up our order. Normally everything is perfect & smooth start to finish BUT that unfortunately wasn't the case with our last visit (05/09/2020) a Saturday night. The Pizza & CHEESE bread were great, that wasn't the issue. The issue was the group of employees there, (maybe 5-7 younger guys working behind the counter) usually when we visit there, there's normally older guys, maybe a younger employee or two, & the OWNER. I don't know if the OWNER was just taking the night off or what but the place seemed totally different w/o him there. The first issue was the customer in line in front of us that was there to pick up his order. He didn't get the salad he asked for to be put in his order on the phone before coming in to pick it up. I heard the young kid at the register say "ya, we ran out of the salads right BEFORE you called" so the customer said "then why didn't you tell me that when I ordered it?" The kid didn't give an explanation but just stood there? So the Customer asked if he could just get another order of the cheese bread to take place of the salad. The kid said ya & one of the other kids working behind the counter said Wow, are you serious? And I cant remember what all else was said but I was in disbelief that these employees were standing right in front of this customer as well as us talking sht like they were, & acting as if we all weren't right there, seeing & hearing them be so rude as they were. When we got up to the register to pick up our order, he tried giving us 3 other people's orders, even though we gave them our last name. Turns out that when I called & ordered our food & gave them the name on our order when they asked for it they NEVER wrote it down?? Lastly, I saw one of the guys behind the counter pick up unfolded pizza boxes off the floor, (the one that made such a big deal/talking sht about the previous customer getting a free order of cheese bread because the customer wasn't told on the phone before coming in that they were out of salads) which was extremely dirty. In my opinion pizza boxes that aren't yet folded, shouldn't be just randomly left on the dirty floor, so customers don't get hair, dirt, or ect. In their food... In all the years (10+ years) we have been going to Sir Pizza, on Columbia Ave. To order our MOST FAVORITE pizza (Royal feast) have I EVER witnessed such behavior. Normally everything is perfect when we visit, the OWNER is almost always there (9 times out of 10 he's always there behind the counter) & the employees are NICE, & would never make a big deal about giving a paying customer a free item because they messed up & let them order something that they knew they couldn't give them, let alone talk sh*t like the customer isn't right there 3-4 ft away from them. I know this is NOT how things are normally run there. I don't know if the OWNER still works there all the time like he used to, or if some changes have been made BUT I will say that if the next time I visit there & the owner isn't there & just this group of younger kids are, I probably WON'T be returning. They seem to have no respect, don't know what customer service is really about, had absolutely no authority over them & were utterly unorganized....Sure it could've just been a busy Saturday Night, but things were just TOO bad with this visit I just had with them. The owner wouldn't let there be unused/unfolded pizza boxes lying around on the floor, a dirty floor at that & then set them on the counter where they bring out the hot pizzas out of the oven & set them. I hope that this visit was just a fluke & maybe the OWNER had the night off or isn't coming in due to COVID19? They seemed to not have a manager looking after them, or if one of them was a manager, then they have no idea what they are doing. I've seriously have NEVER had an issue at Sir Pizza until this visit, & I will say that I was more...

Normally I would score this place higher but this experience was not so great and lately their service has been slipping. Not sure if it is because they are super busy but they could step it up. First, everyone working there didn't look like they had showered in 4 weeks. Second, I understand that there is a lot of controversy over the whole mask wearing thing, however, you are making food for you don't know who, you should be wearing a mask. Third, they are completely disorganized, when I ordered my pizza they took a name, when I paid for my pizza they didn't ask the name they asked what I ordered, I paid for it but they said it wasn't ready so I stepped out of the way. After another 15 minutes of waiting a worker asked again what I ordered and said of it is right here...boxes that were sitting there the whole time. Forth, when I got it home to enjoy with others and opened up the pizza it was on the cold side from sitting so long and as way over cooked. They really need to get back up to their standards because me going their because it could be good again is going out...

Sir pizza is the best place to eat and sit and eating in a very nice and free and friendly place to eat ur pizza because i can remember back when sir pizza was on N.E. capital ave and it was almost always busy because the guys that worked there knew how to make pizzas and still be able to joke ariund and still have a good time while working and still to this day they have the very best pizza ever in battle creek, michigan and the best thing is my brother works there and i am so proud of him and I also know the owners and I would recommend going to sir pizza and just try the pizza because in my book i would never go to any other pizza place because sir pizza in battle creek,michigan has the worlds best pizza ever and I would go there then any other place and thank u pat and chris and John and every one else that works there for the best pizza still in battle creek, michigan.
