I really wanted to like this place. I had a bad experience the first time but decided to give it another shot last night. What a mistake. I asked a price of a drink and was told $7 for mine and $9 for my wife’s. I ended up having 2 she had one. They added $3.50 on to each of mine and $4.50 for hers. When I told our waitress she went to go get it corrected but they came back and told me because I already consumed my drink they could not correct it even if I was told a different price. My wife’s London broil was terrible and sent back. I had the chicken Alfredo “spicy “ and it tasted like someone took a spicy ramen noodle packet and dumped it in the Alfredo. We had to send the bill back 4 times to get it corrected. Management did not come over to talk to us and they did not try to rectify the situation. They offered 20% off the London broil as a fix. We saw them. Walking by and making eye contact but not actually coming to our table. We had to talk with someone “mid level” I guess is the best way to describe it. After all of that, 2 hours after I ate there I became ill and I am still sick this morning. I’m so disappointed in both experiences I had there I am not going to give it another chance. I can say there are a few things there at are good. The flatbread, the rooster dip and the portabello mushrooms that we had over our two visits. I was really hoping for something new and good in BC. The major disappointment in this place is that it is poorly run. I would want to know what we are doing wrong and try to make every effort to make sure my guests were leaving happy. Although we clearly saw both managers neither came by to see what had happened. They just kept walking by and loooking but not stopping. No other option was offered for my wife’s meal. They didn’t seem to care that she hadn’t eaten a dinner. Our waitress Rachele was amazing. She did her best and I don’t want this reflecting on her. They are using a tablet system for orders and they were not trained. They explained that’s where the drink mishap came from but that was either the waitresses fault or my own. It was unbelievable that I was arguing with the lady who was stepping in place of one of the managers over being told a wrong price and having that be my problem. Although the two nights were disastrous I would have felt somewhat better if a manager would have come over and actually tried to fix it. Instead I had to argue with someone to try to not be charged for their mistake. Then the food poisoning was awful. Food is hit or miss, the waitress we had was fabulous and this place is poorly managed. It’s loud and the atmosphere on the dining side looks like cafeteria style. The first try we had an accusatory bar tender our first time charging us for a drink we did not order and then saying so you think you only had this many? It’s crazy to see no one take any ownership over their issues and mistakes. It’s too bad because BC really needs good...
Read moreI met a group of friends there and was not impressed. I had the absolute worst spaghetti I have ever had. It tasted and looked like the they cooked pasta opened a can of tomato paste, dumped it on and stirred it up. It was room temperature, thick, dry and bitter. It did not taste like there were any seasonings in it, just overwhelming bitter tomato it was so acidic it burned my throat. After taking a bite I moved my plate slightly away, my friend asked if I didn’t like it I just shook my head. She tasted it and said “That’s really bad.” When the waitress came to the table to ask how we were splitting the bills she asked me if I wanted a box, I declined, my friend spoke up and said “It is really bad.” When she left the table another friend asked why I didn’t speak up sooner I responded that the waitress had not come back to the table between bringing the food and asking about the checks. She said, “That’s true, she didn’t”. The manager came to the table and asked in a very unfriendly manner “You didn’t like your spaghetti?” I said I didn’t, she offered to get me something else. I declined. She curtly stated”I really don’t want you leaving hungry” I declined again. I was not about to order food when everyone was ready to leave. My friends are kind enough they would have stayed to keep me company while I ate. As the manager was leaving the table one of my friends asked if they would adjust my bill, the manager replied rather gruffly that she would take care of it. On another issue, when we get together the ladies husbands sit at another table. When the waitress asked how the checks were being handled a couple of the ladies pointed out their husbands and explained that they would be together. This is the way it has been handled every time the group meets somewhere. The waitress informed us that the two tables would have to pay separately. I have heard so many people talk about what a great place this is. I have to disagree. If it were possible to give less than 1 star I would. I noticed while reading the reviews that there are no responses to any reviews, positive or negative. It is quite apparent that they really don’t care about the...
Read moreI had heard rave reviews about this place from others so when a friend suggested meeting here for an early dinner on a Saturday, I had very high expectations. The atmosphere was really appealing and I liked the open kitchen and dining space. Because we arrived at opening time (4pm on Saturday) we had the place mostly to ourselves, which was perfect for catching up. Menu had a good variety of items and it was difficult to narrow down to one selection as many things appealed to my taste buds in print. Unfortunately, I did not feel like they lived up to the hype I had heard. Our waitress was pleasant and stopped several times to see how we liked the food, but never refilled my water glass or offered a refill of my friends lemonade even once during our time there. The food was good and was clearly made fresh but I would not rave about the dish I had. The chicken in my chicken marsala was excellent. It was moist and had a good grilled flavor. Unfortunately, it did not have enough flavor to make up for the under-seasoned marsala sauce itself. My friend had asked to have the bacon left off her macaroni and cheese. The waitress helpfully offered to add extra chicken or mushrooms to replace the bacon. When the bill came, we were surprised that she was charged for the "extra" mushrooms rather than having them be a replacement for the bacon. Her chicken was rubbery and chewy as well, though she said otherwise the dish was quite good. The Portabella Fries were and roasted garlic sauce were the best things about the meal but I've had just as good made elsewhere where you got twice as many for half the price. For the price point of the restaurant, I was disappointed in the quality of the service and overall flavor of the food. I will probably go back again in the future just to see if it was a fluke of that one evening or the norm. Go early, before 6 pm, if you want to avoid the...
