Battle Lake Dairy Queen — Restaurant in Battle Lake

Arrived at 7:05pm. Sat in line for about 10 minutes; only one person in line so it was weird but sometimes their microphone doesn't work and we figured the person before us was ordering a lot. The electronic sign outside says drive through is open 11 to 8, as I verified before we drove in.

We wait a good five minutes with radio silence. At 7:15ish a girl comes out and says sorry they're closed and they don't start staying open until 8 until next weekend. Despite the scrolling posted hours saying otherwise. Child bursts into tears. We sit there not sure what to do now, on a busy Saturday night, long enough to see her come outside and sit down and smoke.

This establishment is one of my personal favorites and for this reason I have rated it 5 stars. The Battle Lake Dairy Queen is the apex of both great quality and great service. The staff, comprised of competent adolescents and adults who are as kind as they are humorous. In my many years of living in the Battle Lake area, the biggest problem I’ve had with this fine establishment is that they are not open year round. Went there last week, slow service, didn’t think much of it probably figured they had someone call in. Went back before the big storm and it was the same way. Ordered an ice cream cake to be picked up Today for my grandpas birthday and the ticket said to be picked up from 1-4 l, came at 3:30 and was told it was not made because there was not a note to have anything written on it.
