We ate dinner here Aug. 22. I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos, and my partner, a hamburger, we also got their nachos as a starter.

The fish on the tacos tasted fishy and were not good. The nachos were ok, but not great. The pile appears HUGE, but the ingredients are much like an oil slick, the ingredients sit on top and are NOT lawyered, so all of the chips on the bottom have nothing on them.

The only dessert they offered was two types of cheesecake, both small portions for 7 bucks each. Seriously, they can't figure out how to do more desserts than what appears to be grocery store bought cheesecake from the frozen section?

I was cold and asked if they sold sweatshirts, yes, the lady said and ran to get me one. Then she told me they only had ten sweatshirts and ALL of them were size XXL. Sorry, but that is not my size, yet she kept trying to sell me one. We were staying at the Quaterdeck, and she told me that they'd get another shipment of sweatshirts in within the next day or two, I checked again, and they never got the shipment. Ran to town and got a sweater there.

The french fries weren't bad, but who can live on fries? I did order french fries to take up to my room on two other occasions, the last time, I think the waitress pocketed the cost of the fries as she gave me change out of her tip money and never provided me a receipt (we were standing right next to the cash register when I placed my to-go order). After placing my order, she immediately went to the backroom and told the chef she needed fries to go - so the computer system didn't send a message back.

The service needs a lot of improvement, as does the selection of food, and the quality ...

Wow oh wow! How do I even start a review about this place! Everything about this place is mind-blowing! I absolutely love this place; the view is just breathtaking! It almost feels like something you'd see in a movie. There are plenty of seating arrangements, including a more private area for people who want to sit outside but be close to the bar. The seating arrangements are both indoors and outdoors. Plenty of tables from looking out to the lake, some longer tables for bigger parties, and also some tables closer to the doors leading inside the actual restaurant to the indoor seating. There are lights that are close to the door hanging around the back of the building to have more of a romantic feeling to it, which in my opinion really enhancing the feeling of the atmosphere. The server we had was caring and sweet! Even slightly talkative! We even saw a groundhog! The music playing in the background wasn't too loud but there was a lot of good songs playing! I had the nachos. Not a disappointment! One of the best nachos I've ever had! I also had the kitty cocktail! Which really hit the spot! All around the atmosphere was 5/5, service 5/5 view 5/5. She server refilled my drink and was very fast and efficient bringing our food out. Told us we can pay the check and linger if we wanted too! Just all around a really good experience! I will be coming back to this place as soon as I'm in...

Let me start off by saying I travel the country for work. I stay at multiple hotels every month and found this place by accident.

The price was around 200$ for the night and worth every penny.

The staff was on point and genuinely friendly. Loved the host/waiter was super kind and checked on us frequently

The restaraunt put out hot and quick food that was very good.

The bar tender giving my and my wife one of the best drinks we have tasted in the United States. (I usually buy 2 or 3 drinks at each bar in hotels I stay at, it's usually their special and something easy just for a test)

Finally the rooms. Beyond any expectation to be honest. Ask for top floor! The high ceilings, the fire place, and the decor was just amazing. Every feel of being lake side along with the space that makes you feel like you are in a home and not a hotel. Couldn't...

Slllllllllllllllooooooooooooooowwwww!-visit 3 years ago… Came here once between last visit but… UPDATE on return today via boat on 6/30/23 for early supper…spend $100+ Waitress was friendly-overall decent service this time around. Food…meh. Ordered a handful of starters-walleye fingers, pretzel, bruschetta, chicken wings(weren’t sauce to order), and chicken strips/fries for kids. Beer and cocktail…. Bruschetta -don’t bother ordering!-soggy🤢actually sent out second order-wasn’t any better. Walleye fingers-overcooked and dry. Kids chicken fingers -ok Some outdoor music going on- nothing to rave about. So disappointing to see a place like this with such a great view and potential consistently seem to struggle. Don’t think it is worthy adjusting any ratings…

When we first arrived the waitress had an attitude like her Vikings football team lost (they did) or just was having a bad day at work. Then I noticed she was the only server working and became a little more empathetic. I came for walleye so I focused on the food. You can’t visit northern Minnesota and not eat walleye! The blackened walleye was a little over seasoned but walleye is a great fish to eat even overcooked. Overall, menu is pretty limited as there are no ribs and brisket like some reviews have mentioned. In the end I gave a decent tip because the food was great. I hope the server realizes that her attitude could have been better short staffed or not and fortunately there are understanding people like me.
