The Spot 371 — Restaurant in Baxter

I am a local and have only heard great things about this place. I live 5 minutes away and was so excited to come. I was shocked to have had such a ridiculous experience. My husband two kids and I came in for a late breakfast, asked to make sure if we should wait or seat ourselves. The lady said to seat ourselves so we did. We waited 15 minutes to be greeted and the greeting was “here’s two menus I’ll be right back” then she didn’t come back for 5 more minutes. She came back, we ordered 3 waters, 2 coffees with cream and sugar. She came back with 1 water and 2 black coffees. She didn’t come back for probably another 5 minutes, we ordered and asked for the cream and sugar, she came back a couple minutes later with like 6 packets of Splenda, a good amount of creamer and nothing to stir it with. We didn’t even have straws for our waters to use. She dropped them off and left before we could say anything at all. We noticed after a few more minutes she hadn’t even put in our order so it was a good time for us to take the loss and leave. We walked up to cancel our order and she didn’t even look up or acknowledge us. We were kind towards her and she was just ignoring us over and over even as we left. I’m in the industry so I feel I am more understanding than most and I understand all the curveballs that can happen and losing your flow but this was just plain horrible service. ...

Went there for our first time and was greeted by a guy.That was very rude toned towards us. The first thing you see when you walk in is a little kids dirt bike ride my son went right to it and sat on. Well that guy immediately told me get him off of that. Definitely could ha e came at use different.I guess was not for rides.It was for show. There was no sign saying stay off. Very rude won't be back. We came in there for lunch with my son after his school screening and he did very good.So we were gonna get him a treat.Needless to say, we went elsewhere with our business.And I will definitely let everybody.I know how I was treated our first time in there. Definitely suggest drive ten more minutes north to Nisswa if you want to be treated...

The owners are the hardest working people I have ever met! Huge variety of everything! Clothes, candy, ice cream, lunch, coffee... best little shop in the Great Lakes Area!! Not only do they go out of their way to find options for everyone, when my son couldn't find an icecream he could have due to allergies, the owner found a small batch maker - in Texas! He hand delivered it to my son and made his whole summer! These 2 people are the best asset any community could have. They are active with the local Chambers, they promote other small businesses, they support kids activities. They should be your #1 stop when in the area. They have earned their title as best ever!!!!! Keep up...
