Roma's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Bay City

First of all I guess everyone makes mistakes, and in my case I did just that. When I ordered a hamburg steak meal, I expected that it be something more than a hamburger with no bun,gravy, anything, it was a plain hamburger patty thrown on top of my fries.I ate most of it because of how much I paid, but really what a joke. So my wife felt bad for me and we shared her pasta cabanaro, well i had about 2 bites and it was the most tasteless bland pasta dish I had ever had, kind of like when you add too much water to the pasta roni packet you get from the grocery store. So onto my 2 bites of wilted nasty salad that had obviously been pre made many days beforehand. I can say the fries were decent, and the fried mushrooms. But ontop of everything else I laid in bed all the next day vomiting with the worst stomach ache. I dont recommend to anyone, maybe they have decent pizza? I get that places get busy and it can be overwhelming but the service could have been a lot better. I went with my grandma here on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. Luckily we got a table right away. Our waitress though was not attentive at all and when she was talking to us she treated us like a huge inconvenience that we were there. She also disappeared for long periods. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it was okay. I was not a fan of the amount of cheese on the pizza. It was a thick amount and if I didn't cut my pizza up before I probably would have choked. The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is because the French onion soup was phenomenal but not a good enough reason for me to come back. We've been friends of the family since before I was born almost 60 years ago but I call it like it is - and this place has food that rivals any in town. For those complaining about the phone calls being rude I would like to remind you that they usually have two other people on hold for takeout while you are calling. Better yet, try smiling once in a while and you may get one back! From their chef's salads to the sandwiches and pizza to the full menu I have never had anything that wasn't top notch, and that is a lot of food I've eaten there. There are too many items I like to recommend any specific ones, it is all good. Definitely start out with either (or both) the stuffed mushrooms or the garlic bread sticks with sauce.
