Wanigan Eatery and Pub — Restaurant in Bay City

I’m reposting this review mainly because of the way I was treated.. sorry if this gets long but I just want to explain why..after a long stressful day I stopped for a sandwich and salad for takeout. The sandwich was okay, not great but ok, the salad was terrible. I posted a bad review, but rmoved it because I didn’t think it was the best way to handle this. Before I could remove it I got a response from the owner. A political spin type basically saying that this is almost impossible and we strive for 100% satisfaction. I did still removed it and replied through the link on my receipt. I again got a message from the owner and he seamed sincerely wanting to make up for it. However it’s been over three weeks and nothing. I feel like business is good and I’m just complaining to get something free. I don’t really care about the certificate it’s more about fixing a a mistake. We all make mistakes and owning up to it is what’s important. I really want to give this place give stars. If it was based on the food alone, it would easily be a five-star rating. But I've been here at least five times and all but one of those times, the customer service was atrocious. There is never anybody at the bar if you want a drink. One time, I could hear them in the back talking to each other but had to go to the front to get any service. Last time we went there we got sandwiches and ate them and then wanted ice cream to go. It took forever to order the ice cream, and the girl taking the order acted super confused. Then it took forever to get the ice cream and the girl getting it for us, still confused, didn't have gloves on, and another worker had to come over and tell her to put some on. It was super obvious. Then she didn't ask if we wanted it in a cup or a cone and proceeded to give us the smallest scoop, like a baby scoop. Yes I know it's 2024, Right! and you are an expert on me HOW? I want to say my wife and I really enjoyed the meals we ordered but two things troubled us, the cost of the two sandwiches and the heartburn that loomed for Us both all evening not allowing us to really enjoy what we ingested. We get inflation pre covid compared to post COVID prices but a 5 plus dollar per sandwich increase is a lot to swallow for 2 sandwiches we could make at home for half the price and still belly ache afterwards. This is no disrespect to the deli, it's people it's just me being honest about our experience..
