Waffle House — Restaurant in Bayou La Batre

Saturday, 10/03/2020, my daughter and I were working near Bayou LaBatre and went for lunch about 1:30. Choices are pretty limited, and McD's is consistently awful, so we decided to try this Waffle House. There was exactly one other customer inside. We sat in a booth, and the two waitresses behind the counter were simply leaning against the counter and talking. There was a single cook, who was busily preparing what would be the lone other customer's food, and another individual in the enclosed area beside the working area who appeared to be counting up and preparing some paperwork. In addition, there seemed to be another person in that same area, but possibly could have been one of the other employees who had gone in and then returned to the common work area. After approximately 8 to 10 minutes, I asked my daughter if she wanted to go elsewhere since service didn't appear to be coming anytime in the near future. A couple of more minutes go by, and she says " Yep: time to go elsewhere." --- which we did. I can't actually say that this place has bad service since there was NO service on which we could make that judgement --- so, if one actually wishes to be served, maybe they should...

Stopped by for a quick late night meal on 05/27/16 around 10pm while driving through town. There were three people in our party and we seated ourselves like any other Waffle House and we sat there for 15 mins without being acknowledged. There was 1 party still sitting down eating and one party was leaving. There were three people working at the time and the older lady was taking someone else's order and actually working. The two other girls were gossiping about someone else and completely ignored that we walked in. Within those 15 mins two other parties came in and sat themselves down. Their order was taken before ours and we still didn't get a "hold on one moment" or "What would you guys like to drink?". After waiting and our existence being acknowledged, we got up and left and went to a different Waffle House. On our way out one of the girls said sarcastically, "You guys have a good night." The staff at this little Waffle House was friendly. The food was better than many Waffle House's and it was very clean (including the restroom). They took the time to make dark roast coffee for a few people at our table. The one thing I did not understand was I had ordered the eggs and cheese. She brought my white toast. I was under the impression that it came with reason toast since that is what it clearly states on the menu (see photo); however, I was most confused when the server told me I did not ask for reason toast and that that menu item does not come with it. She did quickly say she would get me some. But, I was a bit confused how the menu clearly states it is included with a meal but I am suppose to request it specifically?? I will know going forward.... So at this location make sure you are incredibly specific about your order even if the menu...
