I have just posted this to the Facebook page of "The Barn Whiskey Bar" it is in response to those of you who visited there and were turned away.
To the proprietor of "The Barn Whiskey Bar" Just wondering why you aren't motorcycle friendly. Several of my co riders stopped by your place on 01/12/2017 to check out your establishment and see if it would be an appropriate venue for two of our riders whom we are having a birthday party for this weekend. Apparently, they were asked to take off their riding apparel before they could be allowed into your bar. Our particular group isn't a motorcycle club, not that there is anything wrong with them, but merely a group of riders who get together and ride. We are comprised of every profession including lawyers, doctors, police officers, firemen, business men and women, construction workers, and various types of business owners. We are extremely proud to be infused with many whom are veterans that served this country and are some of the finest people you could ever want to have in a business such as yours. Having a diverse group of people, mostly from the East side of town, including Baytown and all the surrounding area, gives us quite a large voice in the community when someone excludes us from their properties. Not allowing us to wear our vests which display everything from group association to our military background and service is certainly your prerogative. Since you have taken this stance, and are not motorcycle friendly, and apparently not Veteran friendly, we shall do everything in our power to ensure that as few of our associates, friends and colleagues, ever visit your establishment when in attire of any type. It shall become our mission to spread the word how you don't welcome Veterans or others based on your prejudices to certain groups you feel inappropriate for your place of business. Please be advised that we put on events and benefits for all types of organizations and are major fund raisers for children, cancer patients, and various other fund raising groups that depend on the dollars we create to help them to continue providing their services. Since you have decided to exercise your right as business owners to exclude us from entering your place of business based on, mainly our motorcycle apparel, we will do our utmost to see that the community at large knows of your stance and do everything in our power to inhibit you from gaining any business from those whom we know in the community at large. Should you decide to change your stance regarding the wearing of our motorcycle apparel, feel free to contact me and we shall desist in our campaign to boycott your business. It's likely you will delete this post from your page but be assured it will be shared thousands of times by others in our Facebook family of friends and by word of mouth, which we all know is the best way of attaining new business, or in your case, losing said customers. I bid you adieu, and would hope that you reconsider your stance regarding the aforementioned topic. Copied and submitted by JW. The author is retired military and law enforcement as well. Shame on...
Read moreCongratulations on the opening. We have waited over a year for this place to open. I attempted to visit your establishment on the opening day of Jan 12, 2017 but was turned away because I had on a "biker's" leather vest decorated with patches and pins of things I like and places I've been. Nothing vulgarer or associated with any clubs. It was made clear that "bikers" are not welcome patrons to your establishment. It is your right to refuse service to anyone and good for you to exercise your right to do so. Just so that you are aware, most "bikers" are made up of like minded folks that work in fields like Police, Fire & rescue, management positions who have the money to afford these luxuries but a great percent comes from active and former military. These (for the most part) are the type of people that understand respect, are loyal and have a large network of friends. I respect your decision to not allow bikers in and can understand that we sometimes can appear ruff and scary wearing all that leather and chains. I and our friends have taken the liberty to help pass the word around our circles that your establishment should not be a planned stop for us. I hope this helps you keep your sensitive feelings intact and you don't have to worry about a bunch of scary bikers invading you in your "safe place". It could be argued that your choice to exclude a whole demographic of possible patrons is discriminatory basing it purely on their lifestyle and appearance but, I for one will be respectful of your wishes and choose to spend my time and money in places that I and my kind...
Read moreWas very surprised to find this very cool bar out here off the beaten path. It is a very nice place for sure. They don’t serve food but If ya love Whiskey, this is your place. The bar has bottles all the way to roof. They use a wall ladder to climb up and get the bottle of your choice. The out door patio is a hudge wrap around design, smoking area. Plenty of tables, an outdoor bar just like inside, more bottle of whiskey. Dart boards, Jenga & Tractors. Once you grab the shotgun door handles you go into a old west themed pool room & live music area. The smell of leather is profound. They have two back areas with nice leather chairs and coffee table for bigger groups, kind of a living room setting. There is also stadium seats around the outer sides of the room if a bar chair is not your thing. The pool room was very cool, I was in aww at the book wall. Very nice collection with very interesting titles, I wanted to sit and look thru the Texas Cases set. First time I have ever seen washer game inside, it is sunk in the floor. Again more nice leather chairs to sit and enjoy the game or watch what’s on the HUDGE TV screen. Very clean, bathrooms where clean and decorated to fit the rest of bar. Lots of cool decor all over! Staff was very attentive at keeping tables cleared off. The live music area could be a little bigger, we saw Daniel Holmes and he was Great. Very energetic band that played their great crunchy country hits as well as awesome covers. We...
