Ryan's Pizza & Hibachi — Restaurant in Beaufort

What an amazing experience... all thanks to a young man named John. As my family was about to walk into Ryan's a young man opened the door for us and with a smile asked "how many today?" I felt super welcomed and things just got better from there. John was amazing... approachable, respectful (even with the young ones) and eventhough it was very busy... I never felt like I was bothering him when we talked to him. He came by to checkup on us plenty of times and he kept us updated on the status of the order. When I told John that I needed a pizza to take back with us to Charleston... he gave us two options... baked or half baked... and even gave us suggestions on how to finish baking it. There are so many other things he did during the visit that impressed me... to include advise my 15 year old son on football and wrestling... all while serving us and moving things along like a pro. Obviously the food was great; this is why we traveled from Charleston and took our 3 teenagers with us... but our experience was excellent because of this young man, John. I usually look forward to hibachi scallops. Not today! Rice, vegetables, and scallops were all covered in oil. Scallops had sand, and I could smell them through the bag. My stomach is aching already. Hopefully, I won't start vomiting. I ate about 1/4 of it and waited to see if I get sick. I called and got passed around to about 5 people all of who asked me what the problem was over and over. Then I was told I would have to return the entire dinner to get any type of refund. I informed them I dont know the estimated amt or percentage that I ate. They were not concerned about a negative review or the customer satisfaction. Very disappointing...

My husband & I were passing through Beaufort & decided we needed some Italian that was quick & unpretentious. I had been to another Ryan's for pizza, & this Ryan's filled our needs just fine. The lasagna was nice & cheesy, but we could have gone for a little more flavor in the sauce to balance the cheese & noodle content. And the garlic bread that came with it was a little too dry & didn't taste like garlic at all. (I almost feel like this might have been a miss by the kitchen that night.)
