We always come here every weekend to get pizzas, wings, mozz sticks and salads for Friday night or Saturday night dinner (for pickup) yesterday was our first time ever sitting down in here eating, ordered chicken francese, and a personal pie. the personal pie came out within 20 minutes of sitting there (the people at the counter made us get up and come get it ourselves, when they had another couple sitting in there and they bought their slices to them) and then comes the waiting. My fiancée finished his Personal pie, and we waited over an hour for chicken francese to come out. If I knew that would ever happen I would have left and walked out after his finished his personal pie (when the chicken was done, did not bring it over to the table, make us get up go to this small window and bring it to the table on our own on some sort of tray) I asked twice when my meal was going to come out and why did you bring out the personal pie first? When paying, I said there was no reason for that meal to take an hour and a half. And this was for two people. All she said was “I’m sorry” and nothing else. If the same owner stills owns it, I am sure he would be unhappy to hear how this location is running. Others were complaining and waiting for their to go orders as well. But when we entered the restaurant, there wasn’t a single person in it. we will not be coming back again, going back to Rocco’s...
Read morePanatieri's is in close proximity to our home. Great location to grab a sub or pizza, or eat dinner in. A number of young people are running the place. Last dine-in experience, pizza was terrible, last 2 pizza pick-ups, pizza was terrible. Crust is thick and doughy, no crispness. Sauce is minimal without much flavor. Recently we ordered a meat ball sub to go. Meatballs were bland and sandwich cold. Last dine in experience told the server the pizza was sub par as I believe they should know when the food is below expectations. He said they were busy for lunch, ran out of dough and sauce. Gave us 10% off our pizza...thanks. We live in NJ. I can buy frozen pizza at Costco that tastes better. Last night ordered take out from Hong Kong in Somerville. They had at least a 15 minute drive and food was hot. 1 minute drive for us and meatball sub is cold? They will not see us anymore. Too many times it has been disappointing. Convenience does not...
Read morei prefer frequenting busy pizzerias, since that means all the pizza they have sitting in the case is constantly being sold and rotated. ideally, the slice you eat had been made 15-20 minutes ago at the maximum.
here, the slices from the case were the most stale, scabby, cold, greasy, lunch-room-style pizza i've ever had the displeasure of trying. they were also very stingy with the ingredients - half of my margherita slice didn't even have sauce and cheese on it. i felt shameful even finishing the pizza when i could've picked something so much better.
on a normal day, the pizza is a few steps above a dollar slice in new york, or comparable to pizza you'd get in a grocery store. it's not something you want as a treat, or to throw your hard-earned money at, but somewhere to stop in out of convenience. but i say no matter what, get a whole pie made fresh. there'll always be a little quality difference between the two - but here it's...
