On the Road Again this time to El Pueblito! This place was packed even at 1 PM. I believe it really is the local favorite restaurant! Parking can be a little tight, so time your arrival. Good salsa and chips. The mild sauce had a great taste of garlic and cilantro. Hot salsa is available. Mix it with the regular salsa for the perfect combination. We tried the Enchiladas Mesquite. It was a huge plate of three cheese enchiladas covered in an excellent tomatillo/cilantro sauce. The enchiladas were accompanied with black beans, rice, and were topped off with a nice slice of grilled steak. It was generous plate of delicious food. The other meal was my favorite Mexican meal, carne asada. On the plate were two nice sized, thin cut slices of char grilled steak. The plate came with the standard fare of rice beans salad and guacamole. It too was a tasty meal, but a side order of a chili toreado topped it off. The chili toreado came with grilled onions that went well with the steak. Our experience was very good. Very good food! Very good service! When in Bella Vista AR, eat here and be sure to order a chili toreado to go with the meal! If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there.

I first tried El Pueblito in Centerton; it was delicious. This location in Bella Vista did not disappoint. The carnitas were perfect: crispy, flavorful, abundant, and warm (fresh). The flour tortillas were also still warm. The frijoles (beans) were tasty, and the rice was clean (not overly flavored-- very good). The guacamole with diced tomatoes had fresh lettuce and lots of jalapenos. No room for dessert! Looking forward to leftovers. Still have to try Rosita's across the line, but this is the spot for a Mexican food hankering in the BVV area. Wait staff were quick to respond, even when busy (packed!) around 530pm. The instability of the tables was palpable-- not gonna lie, so don't lean on them too much. Generous portions of chips and salsa (they even brought out a bowl of salsa verde con mas picante sabor). The horchata was excellent. Not too loud inside, and a welcome temperature to the blazing heat wave outside. Wait time was not bad, given the volume of patrons. Parking was voluminous in the shopping center. Five adults under $100 with tax (before tip) for fabulous food that defines sapidity-- a new favorite!

The Carnitas were dry a bit more like pork rinds. The food came to the table and items were left off. When a person working there was ask, they walked away without a reply. It wasn't because they did not hear the request it's because they did not understand it. Helping a restaurant that works in the front of the house should understand customers. Did I mention my plate was broken? Reviews say this is some of the best Mexican in town. I'll be sure to drive to Rogers or else where the next time I want Mexican and definitely skip Bella Vista all together. I order Carnitas from one side of the United States to the other and this was by far one of the worst. Just so you can see that I'm not being hateful I took a picture of this awfully dry pork dish. BTW Carnitas are not supposed to be crunchy. You should be ashamed serving this to a customer and charging $10 a plate. No need to worry though I won't be back nor will anyone I know. The next time I choose a spot for business meetings will be sure to go to the barbecue place instead.

The service is mediocre. The food is mediocre. We've given this place numerous "second chances" and it's the same every time. On one occasion, a waiter messed up my order of three beef enchiladas and brought three chicken instead. Simple enough mistake. Instead of admitting the mistake, the waiter insisted that I ordered chicken and refused to take the enchiladas off of my ticket. I've never ordered chicken enchiladas at a Mexican restaurant in my life. I simply don't like them and therefore don't order them. Ever. I'm a huge fan of "street" tacos. Typically (as in literally every other Mexican restaurant between Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas), these tacos come with your meat of choice, cilantro and diced onions on two small corn tortillas with sliced limes on the side. This restaurant doesn't include limes and they put them on flour tortillas which is NOT how street tacos are made. Even if you take away the poor service and mediocre food, there's still the issue of the TERRIBLE health inspections this place has received. We won't be going...
