If the rule to a good business is "location, location, location", like McDonald's Ray Kroc would have had us believe - John's Grecian Delight is the exception to that rule - and there are ALWAYS exceptions!
I have been coming here for nearly a decade. Every meal I've ever had here has been wonderful. The prices are seemingly frozen in time. The food is made with attention to detail and care. The setting is nice - lots of imagery and colors to evoke a clean, Greek theme... it's also kinda surreal - this giant, cavernous mall, with only a gym and John's the final holdouts. A testament to their popularity and good service in/to the metro area. To walk through this mall, almost post-apocalyptic, then to be treated to such wonderful food, and by such gracious staff is just an experience all its own.
John's gyro meat can compete with any of the others in the metro. You cannot go wrong with a classic gyro and fries here. His double customer should be on your radar: two massive, perfectly seasoned burger patties, topped with a delicious mountain of gyro meat with a dollop of tzatziki - GET ON IT! The Baklava at John's is hands down the best I've ever tasted. You should always end a visit there with a pastry or baklava, even if you get it to go.
This place, the food, John himself - it's a treasure and experience well-worthy of the...
Read moreI visited John's 7/13/18 around 2 pm. I stumbled upon this quaint, hidden gem while looking for lunch ideas online. I ordered the Chicken Gyro, a small Greek salad, and Baklava. The chicken had great peppery flavor. My favorite thing about the Gyro was the tzatziki sauce! It was obviously house made and had really, REALLY great flavor. One thing I'll pass on next time is the mushrooms on the Gyro. Just a personal preference, nothing wrong with them. The salad was good, kind of what you'd expect. And finally, the Baklava was fantastic. It was a larger piece than I'd expected. The top was still crispy, while the bottom was soaked in honey. That made for a nice texture difference, and the flavor was delicious. Besides the food being awesome, what really stood out to me was the kind and personal way I was greeted when I walked in. I was a little skeptical walking through the deserted mall to get there, so walking in I didn't know what to expect. The couple (I assume they were a couple?) behind the counter smiled at me immediately and welcomed me to their restaurant. It was really nice to feel wanted and appreciated as soon as I walked in. Thanks for the great experience! I'll be back to try more...

It may sound like I'm putting you on when you read this review, but John's Grecian Delight was no joke. The food is wonderful and the price is so reasonable that it seemed unreal.
Let me start with the strange part. John's Grecian Delight is in the lower level of what looks like an abandoned Mall. You have to go in the back, and go downstairs to where the restaurant is located. I just followed my GPS, but it really did look like the GPS was misdirecting me. The back of the mall has very few cars, weeds are growing up through cracks in the parking lot, and it looks like it's not in use any longer. But, it's there, and it's worth the journey. In fact, it's like a treasure hunt!
It's a small menu, but everything on it is great. I'm going to upload photos of my food. I will also upload photos of the restaurant, the menu board, the pastries, and the salad bar.
So if you want really good food at a very reasonable price you need to check this place out. It's only open for lunch and early dinner, until about 7 p.m., so be prompt and bring an appetite. You'll be...
