Volcanic Peppers — Local services in Bellevue

Volcanic Peppers. Wow. I have a lot to say and so little time! This store front seems like a typical hole in the wall, but once you step in you are immediately greeted by the familiar smell of insanely hot peppers! My best friend sent me here on a mission as I was visiting family in Omaha, and being no stranger to spicy peppers I love right in.

I will cut to the chase: reaper chili peppers and almost every pepper below it in terms of decreasing scoville units. Reaper pepper hot sauces, reaper pepper ranch dressing, dried and crushed reaper pepper dust, salsas that read hot and actually mean it, chips and salsa to sample so you leave on fire to brave the cold, concentrates.... So much firey stuff!

Staff was great and super enthused to meet a pepper head and to hear that they are known out of state (check out their website!).

I went crazy and bought a bunch of stuff for my friend, as I am not quite up to reaper heat yet, and they threw in a great pizza topper dust (see pics)!

I wish I could have stayed longer and sampled everything! Super friendly, local and small business, passionate about their trade and...

I really like the fact that when you go into their shop, you can pretty much taste any sauce they make. They offer samples on either a tortilla chip or on a spoon. You don't have to guess which sauce you'd like. They're friendly people and the shop is clean and well organized. They mostly sell their own sauces, however they do sell some products made by other companies. A cautionary word about their heat ratings, however - what they label "medium" heat seems to be more inline with what supermarket brands would label "hot". Also, you can realistically only taste test one or (at the most) two products before your taste buds just start registering heat. Don't ask to try the hottest sauce they make if you plan on trying other...

What can I say about Volcanic Peppers??? I have to say that it has some of the best sauces and dusts that I have ever tasted. They are truly out of this world good. All the products are all natural, all the ingredients that are grown, are done so right here locally. Its always fresh and the explosive taste's are always amazing. There is something for everyone and it doesn't have to be hot -- they have fruity sauces, hot sauces, mild, medium and downright volcanic. How do I know?? I've tried them all........in one evening. They are amazing and I must say that Im proud of the Bader family for becoming the next great hot sauce...
