The food here is really decent considering the location. If you're stuck out in the sticks and want some good food to eat then I would recommend this to you face to face. I wouldn't drive out there from Anderson or Greenville but if you are already out in the middle of Nowheresville then it's a great option. Fresh salsa and tasty cheese dip. I love their tortilla chips also. For some reason their chips with the cheese dip is perfect and if you try to eat the leftover dip with bagged chips at home is just NOT THE SAME. This location is way better than the Honea Path "Los Palenques" branded counterpart. I get the same thing basically all the time (from both locations) so I know what I should be getting.... the other location skimped me hard on my very last visit and I thought it was a change due to the "economy" but I begrudgingly ordered again, this time, from this location in Belton. Low and BEHOLD, I got what I paid for and what I am used to getting.... and was able to justify the cost of the meal once again. The Honea Path location has screwed me 3 times now on portion size and I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE. I will continue to visit this BELTON location as long as they continue to provide what is expected. To that point I have wanted Mexican on 2 occasions and was right near the Honea Path one.... and I drove right past it and went home and ate a sandwich instead..... just because of portion size on take out orders not taste. Taste wise they are very similar, dare I say, identical... except chips..... chips are also better in Belton. If you are looking for an eat in experience then idv also send you to BELTON as it's bigger and has a more professional restaurant type set up than the other, which is small and also has very limited bar seating... like 3 or...
Read moreAlthough the food was okay, I felt the professionalism and organization could’ve been a lot better. The waiter who was helping us out was running back and forth yelling by our table and none of the workers dressed professional. There was no regulations or uniform. They were just free to wear what they wanted. Also the seats were dirty, there was old food and dirt in between them and they never seemed to be cleaned. The tables were in awkward places some almost crowed with each other. For one of my dishes I had asked if they have green salsa and they said no. Once I went to their salsa bar...they had green salsa. He had forgotten about our waters and they didn’t offer blended margaritas. I wish the food could’ve been made a lot better, it feels to me as if they heated it up in an oven because the plate was extremely hot. My advice is give the restaurant a more modern look and hire people that love to make food, not just cook with a sloppy job. Also the chips with the salsa were very stale and no flavor. I ordered chicken enchiladas with rice and the chicken tasted canned or preserved, the rice tasted old and not fresh, almost like...
Read moreWaitress, Kayla, was GREAT! The short round Mexican woman was UNPROFESSIONAL! When you, as a customer, are eating and can hear this woman yelling at the waitresses for the mess they left last night or because they haven't swept the BACK floor yet, it's a very UNPLEASANT experience. There is a better way to not only correct your staff but also TALK to people! NOT HAPPY! Be grateful for the staff you DO have and learn how to correct your people. If you talk to them with respect, without yelling, and take them to a PRIVATE area, you can get your staff to respect you! This coming from a manager of a bigger company! Again food was ok, waitress was GREAT management was HORRIBLE to...
