Had a friend recommend this place so stopped by after our dog's vet appointment nearby. Sad to see banners and signs saying they lost their lease and would close 7/3/23. I ordered online from the vet's office and it said 20 min. We got there and parked and it was a little longer than 20 min but there was a steady stream of customers eating there and getting takeout. I asked when my food came if they were relocating and was told there was a card in my bag. It says they'll still do a truck and a pickup location for online orders.
All the food we ordered was delicious and I'll definitely go back if possible when we go to the vet. We got an order of spam musubi that we ate in the car. It's nice that they slice a typical musubi into 3 pieces, so you get 6 pieces total. But the smaller slices are easier to eat, especially in the car. Their kalua pork was more bbq than what I'm used to but it was still delicious. The combo I got had hamburger steak with gravy and BBQ pork, with rice and Mac salad. The portions were generous so I ate the hamburger and a few bites of pork then had enough leftover to have lunch...
Read moreFirst time here at Got Plate. They had pop-up vendors outside their restaurant which is what led me to come here. It’s a cute little spot with minimal seating inside but they also have outside dining which is cool. It had an island vibe: the food, the music and the people. The food was delicious. I like how the Mac wasn’t runny, because some do them runny.
I got the mixed plate, my friend got the mini KATSU plate and we shared a Shaka “garlic” fries. I was little disappointed with the portion size. Usually it’s big, didn’t get a lot of meat and I got three pieces of spam, I guess I expected something more. They were super busy so we waited a bit for our food. But, I was told they also get a lot of online and phone orders as well. But, it also looked like they short staffed. So when we got our fries it was cold. And barely tasted the garlic and furikaki.
It was nice that they had a public restroom but it was weird that you had to go behind the counter to get there. Seems like an inconvenience for the staff and the customers. But still a plus that...
Read moreApril 14th. I didn't like having to read a menu typed with letters too small to read, which was irritating. Nothing was ever said or done to make me or my friend feel welcome. We ordered the Kahlua Pork and the Spicy BBQ Chicken plates small size. The worst was the serving size versus the pricing...one ice cream scoop of rice (rice is not that expensive to give such a small amount) and about the same with the proteins. I couldn't believe it! You get more food in a kiddie value meal at McDonald's! The Spicy BBQ Chicken was way too spicey hot! Where in Hawaii do they make food that spicey hot? It should have sat on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce, which has a higher water content to help cool the spice. Instead, it sat on cabbage, which made the bite dry, crunchy, and weird. The L n L Hawaiian Barbeque is a place where you can get tasty Hawaiian style home cooking and...
