The Meadows Original Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Benner Township

I wanted to love this place, but there are a few major issues going on here that have not improved since their opening.

Overpriced and small serving sizes. These prices rival major metropolitan areas.

My order is wrong most of the time, regardless of the time of day. A vanilla arctic flurry with one topping mixed in isn't a complicated order.

Employee attitude. I understand ice cream shops across the nation employ high school kids. That's fine. The issue is the attitude customers receive, when they arrive within the last hour of operation. Typically, the staff is cleaning and ignore the customers waiting to order. It can take 5 minutes in an empty shop for someone to take an order. It's as if they think we'll leave, if they don't take our order. This is very consistent behavior. Business hours state the shop is open until 10pm. It seems more like "lights are off at exactly 10:00pm".

At 9:15pm or 9:30pm, customers should still be able to order ice cream and eat it there. The staff will also do their best to make as much noise as possible, to encourage patrons to leave the...

I am so happy we have an ice cream/custard place in Bellefonte! The Meadows is a great place to come and grab something cool to eat. I highly recommend the Apple Dumpling Sunday! The inside of the restaurant is very clean and there is plenty of outside seating too.

The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. even on the busy days.

My sister got a birthday cake for my nephew here and they made it shaped like a baseball and it was super cute and tasted amazing!

I ordered a Peanut Butter Cup Arctic Swirl and there were very few pieces of candy in it. I had a coupon for a small cone and the young girl who took my order looked at it, rolled her eyes, and yelled for another employee to ask how to ring it up. I ordered a small cup of Almond Joy, they gave me plain vanilla (at this point I was over it and didn't even ask for a new one). We love the Meadows, but I won't be back to this location. The older woman working there were very kind, but the young kids need major attitude...
