The Beer Garden Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Benton

I am giving this establishment one star because it’s the lowest the rating goes. If I could give them negative stars I would. My friend & I decided to go to this bar this evening; we are 2 Marshall county natives who had never been, in our late 20s. When we arrived it seemed like a good atmosphere; a live bad was playing & we decided to go to the bathroom first before ordering drinks. After coming out of the bathroom, we decided to sit down and watch the band for a second before we ordered anything. We were not sat down 5 minutes before a woman approached my friend & informed her she was the owner of the bar & that my friend was not allowed to be in the bar with what she was wear. Was her cleavage showing? Yes. Were her entire breasts out? No. Were we up dancing & causing a seen in the bar? No. Had we been there long enough to even enjoy the environment? Not at all. This woman insisted that my friend not be allowed in a BAR at 11pm on a SATURDAY night with her cleavage showing. We were in the bar a total of 7 minutes. To me, this is beyond unacceptable & for it to come from another woman herself is even worse. We left with out any fuss but we will never be back. Great place to go have drinks and a good time. Love the corn hole area and the stage provides a nice space for local bands to get more of a concert-like feel. Overall my experiences at the Beer Garden are usually good. Update: They've got a very good crew working for them now so I have amended my review and taken out the part about the staff being slow and not attentive. It is the opposite now and I am more than pleased. Kelsey and Marti seem to be the two bartenders I encounter the most and they are always pleasant, and very customer focussed. I often see Jennifer the owner in there as well, always busy and always looking for ways to improve. You are all amazing! I went to The Beer Garden last night. There was definitely a lack of beer. The service was awful. The staff acted like I was inconveniencing them by asking for anything. I do understand that it appeared to be 2 FOH staff members for the entire place which would just be poor management, but there was no need to the rudeness. I work in the service industry and I understand things happen and we all have off nights, but this was just ridiculous. I was charged for 2 extra drinks that I didn’t order. Towards the end of the night they substituted liquors without letting me know. The server/bartended also proceeded to make me a drink that was less than a 4 count of alcohol and insisted I keep using the same cup all night.
