I wasn't the one who made the reservation, so it was a bit of a surprise to me. The overall condition of the hotel is below average as it is a (somewhat) updated older hotel. There is no elevator. Which was a revelation to me as I had just recently injured my foot. Carrying luggage up the narrow single flight of stairs was pure torture as meeting people on the stairs forces parties involved to yield right of way, leading to constantly awkward exchanges. Quite a bit of damage throughout the hotel as well as some neglected maintenance. Nearly every popcorn ceiling has leak stain damage (including our room). The duvet was damaged, the bathroom floor was sticky, and there was hair on our towels. Our room was dimly lit even with every light on. The bathroom was the opposite, nearly blinding it was so bright. The bathroom door would not lock The walls in our room had odd orangish stains on the walls in strange locations. As if someone had a soda battle with 2 liter bottles of orange Fanta and the food coloring stained the walls. Our room had a heavy musty scent, like a flooded basement. Which is odd since we were on the 2nd floor and the hallway had no such scent. We thought it might be humidity, but after hours of running the air conditioning on its maximum setting, the scent never dissipated. The pool is very small and is directly visible from the breakfast area with the blinds on the outside of the pool area, so privacy is not an option. The breakfast is the usual budget hotel fare, just barely adequate to satisfy. Those wanting a full breakfast would be better to look elsewhere. Inadequacies notwithstanding, the room was quiet, the bed linens were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the price was fair. The hotel filled its role for an evening, but I would not recommend it for longer stays, or even repeat stays.

Last weekend, we booked this hotel to visit with family that were also staying nearby at a resort. We planned on staying at the hotel with our 1 year old baby. We checked in around 9pm and staff at the desk were friendly, but one staff person came out from the back and was not dressed professionally - Did not have “Quality Inn” attire on and honestly was barely clothed. When we got up to the room, I put the baby down and started making her a travel pallet on the floor. There was a good chance she would end up in bed with us anyway, so I went to check the bed. The bed was made, white sheets, but there were balls on the top layer of bedding. Upon closer inspection, these “balls” were multiple pieces of rodent feces. I immediately picked up the baby, washed her hands and feet, and my husband went downstairs to complain and get a refund. The staff was understanding and non-argumentative, but since we booked through Hotels.com, it was explained to us that the manager would have to call us the next day to start the refund. No big deal until they never called. My husband called them the next afternoon. The manager’s excuse was that she had been busy with over thirty check-outs that morning - it was near 2pm at this point. When they started discussing the refund, the manager tried arguing that they sent house keeping up and they only found one piece of rodent feces - even if that was true, and it wasn’t, one piece is MORE than enough. Especially with a baby staying. For $300 for two nights, they should do a better job. No “Quality” here. Stay elsewhere.

Staying at the Quality Inn near Benton has been an incredibly pleasant experience from start to finish. The staff are amazing, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and I couldn’t ask for a better hotel. This is definitely one of the best hotels under the Choice brand. A special shout-out to Lilly at the front desk, who has been absolutely exceptional. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail have truly made my stay even more enjoyable. My stay here became even more meaningful after a terrible experience at the Quality Inn in Calvert City, where I was told I’d be charged a fee for my service animal. When I questioned the charge, which is illegal, they told me to call the cops and banned me from staying there, refusing to refund the room I had booked, even though they canceled it before I even had the chance to check in. Thankfully, the Benton location came to the rescue. They listened to what happened and helped me secure a room. Every day I’ve been here has been fantastic. If it weren’t for this hotel, I’m not sure what I would have done, and I am so grateful to have found a place with such kind and understanding people. Their breakfast is great too! I’ll definitely stay here every time I’m in the area, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel with outstanding service.

I regret to take time to share how gross, stale, archaic, wretched, and uncomfortable this hotel is. I don't enjoy leaving negative feedback and have average expectations of hotels, but this place is shameful. I am not an over-privileged or wealthy individual. I am a working-class person with few middle-class comforts in life, and booked this room as a rare getaway from my life full of obligations.

First, I had booked a king suite, but at check-in was placed in a non-suite. It felt like they were trying to play games; There had been nothing vague about my reservation. The main reason I chose this hotel rather than any other in the region was for the jacuzzi tub, and had been explicit about that with the booking staff. My reward points were debited accordingly.

Second, after having to assert myself to be installed in the room I booked, it smelled TERRIBLE inside. At first I couldn't discern whether the smell was 'lingering decades of cigarettes' or 'mold', and then I realized it is probably BOTH. My naive nature had me thinking I could fix it up with some room spray, but my aromatherapy powers were MOOT against the putrid, layered foulness of this nasty room (Watch out for room 129-Disgusting!) The windows are sealed shut, so even though it was spring/summertime, I couldn't get relief through fresh air. I was hours from home and exhausted from travel. I was going to have to sleep in the car or be stuck in the Stank Den. My middle-aged self chose 'Stank Den', but regretted the decision for the next two days as my hair still carried the filthiness after travelling 8 hours home and taking a long, hot shower. My clothes and travel bag needed 2 trips through the washer with extra rinse. DISGUSTING.

(Yes, Reader, I could have asked to be installed in a THIRD room, but at the time I was stressed, anxious and tired. I may have been experiencing somewhat unclear thinking in that I imagined every room in the place would be terrible. Nonetheless, the hotel should not have maintained such a nasty guest room in the first place. The shame is theirs, not mine)

Third, I have never seen staff behave with such well-curated false passivity when called on bad service. I was told 'Let us make it right the next time you're in the area'. I don't appreciate that at all; The hotels chance to 'make it right' is NOW, while I'm here explaining the problem. I expect to be treated with basic dignity, not games and gaslighting. That room was WAY too nasty for the staff and management not to know about it, they just didn't care. Basically, these owners/managers are the slumlords of chain hotels.

Fourth(arguably the worst), was a religious symbol (one which evokes violence against women, as if there aren't enough layers to this mess) posted behind the front desk at check-out. I think it was NOT there at my check-in. The symbol was situated inside the 'Quality Inn' sign. I let the staff know how upsetting it was to see this symbol posted and that guests don't come here to receive religious indoctrination.....The worker sheepishly (pun intended) removed the symbol and didn't even say anything. I'm sorry, reader, that I didn't snap a picture so you could see for yourself. I was creeped-out and trying to register my complaint while my brain stem was simultaneously getting squirmy and pushing my body out the door.

Yes, I called Choice corporate from down the road. Yes, they refunded some points. But they should have refunded all of my points and added a free night somewhere else so I could get a do-over. Most Choice hotels I've stayed in over the years have been pleasant or even quite comfortable. This was beyond my lowest expectations.

Long story short: Nasty, ignorant, smelly, moldy, traveller-preying place. This is the only time I've ever posted a public hotel review, I hope to never have to do so again. Watch out for this trap. They have a location-monopoly but respect yourself and stay...

Rented the pool and meeting room for a child's birthday party, and after the party the desk clerks threatened to close the pool for the entire rest of the evening because we got confetti in the carpet in the pool area! I took it upon myself to clean up the confetti, so my child and her 2 guests staying the night could swim because sitting in a little hotel room wasn't what they had planned on doing the rest of the evening for her birthday. I couldn't find the staff for over an hour to ask for a broom to sweep it up, so I used towels which took over an hour to do, but it almost all came up. After I had cleaned almost all of the confetti out of the filthy carpet that turned every towel very brown when I wiped it, the staff came in and brought me a non electric push sweeper that picked up the last little bit left on the carpet area in seconds. They had no warnings for using confetti, but threatened to charge my mother and one of my guests (and did not say anything to me- the one renting the areas) $150 cleaning fee for the confetti! After cleaning the confetti up completely I apologized and asked the girl at the desk MULTIPLE TIMES if there was ANYTHING else she needed help cleaning and she says there was not. However, the man working the desk that night told one of my guests staying the night with us that "WE COULD LEAVE" If we didn't like it that an extra cot costs $10 and proceeded to tell her that we trashed the place and didn't clean it up, (which as I just explained is a lie and if they had came to me to begin with I would've been more than willing to clean up anything they asked) that we left the kids unattended which is a flat out lie, and they can easily run the Cameras to see that, but I chose not to argue with him about it because I know that it isn't true and don't care what he thinks. He also stated that other guests complained about us, but again I was never told about any complaints, so I doubt that is true either. Usually if a guest complains, they address the issue to keep those guests happy, so either they don't care about guest complaints, or they like to make up guest complaints to make their guests sound worse then they are. I'm not sure if the second shift girl made up these lies and told the man on night shift, or if he just made them up to be a jerk to my guest, but I would guess it was a combination of both. He talked so horribly to my guest that she was literally in tears for almost an hour and said she's NEVER been talked to so rudely IN HER ENTIRE LIFE. That he talked to her like she was TRASH. I've never had a problem at any other hotel and I travel every 3 months with my child, so clearly this hotel has extremely poor customer service, and I think they were just lazy and didn't want to do any cleaning or anything at all, and were looking for an excuse to charge the cleaning fee of $150 since they had to do some work, so BE CAREFUL if you stay at this hotel, and don't stay here if your feelings are easily hurt by someone accusing...

We checked into this hotel early to spend some time hanging out with each other. Upon arrival the smell of paint was very strong from the stairwell. Got into room tried to take a shower (there wasn’t any hot water and very little pressure) I could barely get the conditioner out of my hair. So we decided to go get something to eat. Upon leaving and looking at the stairwell and the drywall everywhere and the small so strong we decided when we were gone that my Husbands allergies couldn’t handle it as he was already having a bad asthma attack. So we checked out. We were in the room for maybe a hour tops. I called the next day about a refund and was told I would get a call back. I didn’t. I checked my account and they had posted my account with the $120, I had one pending in the same amount and then there was a $40 change as well. So I waited thinking ok maybe they are going to change me $40 instead. That changed dropped off and I was left with the $120 posted and $120 pending. So I called and spoke to Jamin (spelling?) He was the rudest person I’ve ever spoken too. If the calls are recorded this one needs listened to. He kept talking over me, acting like I was stupid, and even hung up on me because I was trying to explain the way things looked on my end. If any of my employees were to talk to a customer like he did they would no longer have a job. I tried to explain that the $120 was posted and pending and he didn’t want to listen to me and told me to wait a few day that he credited me $40. I asked why only $40 when we were in the room for 1-1/2 hours max. He was very rude saying he didn’t have to credit me anything and I should be happy. Well I’m since I had to still go get a hotel room for the night so I had a place to stay that didn’t smell of Paint. Bottom line is this hotel was disgusting. We had friends staying there as well and had nothing good to say about it but they didn’t want to complain because their father in law paid for it and they didn’t want to hurt his feelings. So they sucked it up. The hotel was bad (but I understand the smell will eventually go away) but after dealing with Jamin there is no way I would even step foot in that place. He was beyond rude and very...
