Tacos el Metate — Restaurant in Berkley

My friend showed me this place. I loved the tacos so I visited again yesterday around 8PM to get them again, but I was given sandwiches on accident and I didn’t notice until around 2 hrs later. When I drove back to ask the man working the register to replace them, he started arguing with me that I ordered it wrong. I remember ordering tacos, but it’s possible because I don’t speak Spanish. However, when I brought him the sandwiches completely uneaten to replace them, he just told me to come back tomorrow when the manager is there so I can look at the camera footage and see that it’s my fault and he didn’t offer to replace it. I ended up throwing away the sandwiches because they looked nasty. I had to go get food elsewhere after spending $30 here and I was super upset. I will NEVER order...

Excellent tacos that are unfortunately undersized.

For $3.80/taco (pescado) they should be larger and ideally include slices of avocado. 4 tacos would satiate me but not fill me up like they should.

I will likely return when I have the craving, as the food is excellent and close by, but it's just not a great value. If they were appropriately sized they would have to kick me out at the end of each day.

I have to assume their Aurora location does not pull these shenanigans, but I haven't yet...

Can’t wait to come back for many more delicious meals here. The food is OUTSTANDING. Tacos, green chile, pozole, salsas - everything. It’s all fresh and homemade. The restaurant is immaculately clean, and they have a robust menu with many specialities and items. It’s very reasonably priced, and the concept is fast casual. I haven’t tried them yet, but they have $3.75 wrapped breakfast burritos to go in the mornings, starting at 8am. Can’t wait to grab some on my way to work one day. Highly...
