First timers. We all ordered very different items. Lemon Ricotta pancakes (10/10) wish they did blueberry syrup, but they were phenomenal as is. Kielbasa is smoked, flavored perfectly with garlic and black pepper (Polish mom approved), Mexican rice was delicious, home fries were cooked to perfection, chicken tenders easily rival the best in Central Ohio. Our waitress was extremely attentive and knew what needed refilled or provided before we even asked. It's a holiday, and we correctly anticipated places to be busier than usual. They were almost packed, but we were seated and serviced in a reasonable amount of time, even quicker than we expected. Above and beyond is an understatement. One thing I wanted to address was the man seated next to us complained for 15 minutes about how offended he was for having to wait 8 minutes to be seated. Anyone who took the time to read this- let's be kinder to small businesses and those employed by them. An 8-minute wait on a holiday is nothing. Nobody deserved that level of nasty glares over 8 minutes and demanding you be served breakfast despite showing up minutes before breakfast is no longer being served. My 12 year old daughter even asked if I could hear that man-child complaining. It's still a 10/10 despite other guests being obnoxiously entitled.

Well, Google asked me how my visit was at the galena diner so I'm going to tell you. When we walked in, they were busy but there were open tables. A waitress came over right away and told us to give her 5 minutes to wipe down a table and she would seat us. After more than 5 minutes, a young girl appeared from the back and said she needed our name and phone number so she could put us on the wait list, although there were no other customers waiting. We explained we had already been helped but she insisted so we obliged. She went back to the counter and I watched her as she appeared to be playing on her phone for the next 5 minutes. Then I got a text from her explaining that we had a 10-15 minute wait. Then she approached us again and told us that we couldn't stand by the doorway and we would have to go outside to wait. I told her it was cold and raining and we weren't going outside to wait so she pointed to a chair in another room where we could wait and so we did. In the meantime, another couple comes in and another waitress starts to seat them so I jumped up and said we were next so she took us to the table instead. It was extremely loud. There were no menus at the table. We sat and waited another 10 minutes and nobody came to our table so we got up and walked out. We drove to the Sunbury Grill where were immediately greeted and seated. 40 minutes after we left the galena diner, we got another text message saying our table was ready! We will never go back there again! We will continue to patronize the Sunbury Grill where we always receive great food at great prices and...

I want to preface this review by saying our food was good and our server was excellent, however, the rest of the experience was not so great. My fiancé and I went to the diner for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Upon being greeted and led to a small 2 top table, I requested the larger table right next to the table the hostess wanted to seat us at. She explained that Sundays were busy and those tables were reserved for larger tables. OK - great. Immediately, another woman came over and went into a lengthy explanation about why we could not sit at the larger table. She was not our server and what I later observed, her job that day was to tell most every table in the restaurant about the “new rules” that the new owner has put in place. As our drinks and food got delivered, the small table was not large enough to fit everything. We placed some items on the empty table next to us, to which appeared to be an annoyance to other servers. This empty table was the one I requested to be seated at and it remained empty the entire time we were in the restaurant. Additionally, several 4 top tables were seated with parties of 2 while we were there. Unfortunately, this will likely be our last visit to Galena Diner because of the...
