Sammy's Pizza — Restaurant in Berlin Charter Township

It was highly reccomended, so we gave it a try. We made an order, the web showed it was ready for pick up. Though I didn't believe that, I went in to get the order. It wasn't done, so I waited.

While I waited, I watched the kid at the counter using 2 registers, taking orders, handling pick up orders. Orders that were prepaid, some using credit/debit cards and cash. When it slowed he wiped his hands in his pants, started stretching raw dough for the topping area. Customers come in, he wipes his hands on his pants after handling the dough, does more pick up orders, then wipes his hands, goes back to raw dough. Never washed his hands, never put gloves on. After handling 2 registers, cash, cards etc from the public, handled raw dough. Enough to turn your stomach. Had I not ordered online, I'd have walked out.

Aside from the obvious cleanliness issue, probably lack of training, everyone enjoyed their food. I offered to toss it, order somewhere else, before they ate. Everyone said its cooked, should be fine, but hard to get that out of your head. What else is handled, without washing hands or...

It had been years since I had Sammy's Pizza, and back then I wasn't too impressed with it. However, we had a family gathering at my Dad's house last month and they ordered Sammy's Pizza from this location and OH my GOODNESS it was delicious! They were all regular round pizzas, I think 2 had pepperoni, one had pepperoni and bacon, one had ham and pineapple, and they were ALL SO GOOD! Even my daughter liked it and she's not a fan of pizza.

I tried ordering from a location closer to where I live and it was nowhere near as good as this location! I don't mind making the trip though for good food on special occasions. When the food is THAT good, it's worth it!...

Ordering from here was a nightmare. She never took a name on the order so she had to ask me over and over for the 80 minutes I waited for food what the number was on the order. She kept bringing up other people's names when she was reminded a 4th and 5th time that she never took a name on our order. After 80 minutes of waiting, we asked for our money back and magically our pizza was sitting there. I watched the girl running the register touch that pizza numerous times over the last half hour and never one time tried handing it over, just kept asking me if my name was a dozen different names. So we got a cold pizza and bread sticks at the end...
