I was on a trip through New England and as I was looking for a bite to eat, I stumbled upon this restaurant online. I called ahead, looking to get a feel for the prices and ask about the menu. I asked the guy on the other end what toppings they had and also about the cost for a few slices. This shouldn't have been a big deal but he was quite rude for some reason. It took me a moment to register and respond because I was not expecting him to be rude at all. I then circled back to the toppings and asked if any of the toppings for the slices were extra in price (this is because at other restaurants, some toppings cost more than others; they may not all be the same price).
What happened next I couldn't expect. The guy said something like, "Come on, you really think that they're not gonna have any extra price? The only things free in this life are advice, and (something else that I can't remember)." He hung up after that short rant, before I could say anything. I guess he thought that I was trying to avoid paying for toppings? Even so, why not just tell me that was a no-go instead of monologuing and deciding I wasn't worth any more of his time? I was very surprised at that. The whole call didn't even last 5 minutes.
I can't speak to the quality of pizza, as I didn't order from there, and obviously they didn't need my business. But if the staff will treat strangers in such an insulting and insensitive way, maybe it's for the best. Good luck...
Read moreThe pizza here was very good. The mozzarella they used is low fat so the pizza was not super greasy and the pizza sizes are very generous. The small is 14". I ended up finishing about half of it on my own only because my friend and I finished a backpacking trip.
The prices they have are honestly incredible. If I hadn't been very hungry when I got off the trail I'd have likely done the pizza and salad deal they had. I didn't take any pictures for these deals, but it was something like a pizza slice, salad, and drink for $6-7. Incredible!
Lastly, this place advertises themselves as "a taste of New York ". The person at the counter helps finalize this experience. Personally I liked him. He was the "rough around the edges but kind" type. However, as per many of the low star comments, some people might not take that too well. I observed him when he wasn't speaking to customers and when regulars came in and that joking yet kind heartedness still showed, especially with the old ladies that were definitely regulars.
Whenever I'm in the area again I'd definitely stop by again. Can't beat the prices, the food was good, the bathroom was clean, and they made sure to keep the tables clean as customers came in and out. Just be sure to bust...
Read moreBy far the worst pizza I have ever had. Ugh!!!! I stopped on my way from VT to CT. Now mind you, I'm from New Haven County, Pizza Capitol of the world, so I am a little fussy, but..... I ordered one slice of cheese pizza. It was so oily, I had to take at least 6 napkins to get it off. The cheese was thick and dense. I ate a few bites, and took off the rest of the cheese. I had to put alot of graded cheese to make it ok. I would absolutely not recommend getting pizza from here. Haven't tried their other stuff. It's 5 hours later and I'm still really grossed out. I didn't dare say anything to the guy behind the counter (I think he might have been the owner) because I asked him if I need to wait at the counter for it and he kinda joking but sarcastically said " Didn't you see that person walk our with a whole bunch of food" I laughed a little and apologized for nit knowing, but I didn't find it...
