Hillside Pizza — Restaurant in Bernardston

This restaurant was an amazing find off the highway on our long journey. Right when we needed a bite to eat and break from the road with our 1 year old daughter, Hill Side Pizza appeared. We are used to stopping on the road at the usual McDonalds or other crappy chain so we were relieved to find a locally owned comfortable and clean environment to rest and eat. Not only was the restaurant comfortable but the food was amazing. Best pizza ever and tons of other choices. The staff was super friendly and helpful. When I asked for something not on the menu they went out of their way to make something work for me. The bathroom had a baby changing station which I can not say enough about needing when you need one. AND It had disposable changing pad covers stocked in the changing station. Love this place. We had the special pie today. It was BBQ chicken, bacon & ranch dressing. It was very good. They have a really tasty crust here with a nice yeasty flavor. Their red sauce is good too. Our pizza was a little soggy, but that was probably due to the BBQ chicken. The pizza was super hot and the cheese was crusty and delicious. They have Off Road Joe’s chips and drinks as well as local beers and seltzers. The dining room and bathroom was very clean. We really liked the fact that the offer slices & whole pies. Also found it cool that Togo boxes and containers were right in the dining room, so you can grab what you need to take leftovers with you! The pizza here is very good! We spent a couple of days staying in Greenfield on business and decided to try Hillside pizza based on the good reviews. From the outside, you wouldn't know what a tasty gem it is and might drive right past it. The crust is perfectly crisp, tender and delicious. They also have unique and tasty variations of specialty pizza. We ordered a simple mushroom pizza and it was very flavorful. The Jane pizza is a house specialty and super delicious. We gave 5 stars for atmosphere because, for a hole in the wall pizza joint, it's clean, super cozy with a small makeshift fireplace, and it has a cozy bar to eat at if you prefer.
