I love how folks that didn’t eat here are giving lower reviews based on conservative political signage. I’m Middle Eastern, my family and I ate here, and we loved it. The service was great, they only had a few people working, it is a smaller diner out in the country, but that didn’t impact service. Food was out within 15 minutes and fresh, with generous portions. My kids couldn’t even finish the giant pancake they got. As for the food for us, portions were great and taste was on point. We’re glad we found a gem in the country and will definitely be back. They treated us like family and our kids loved it.
As for those putting lower star reviews based on political signage, grow up. Everywhere you go has people from all walks of life, different political leanings, and writing them off based on your own assumptions makes you the problem. Go and experience it for yourself and base your judgment off of that. If you’ve had bad experiences at other places, doesn’t mean this one will be the same. Would recommend you go back and check this gem out. Great people...
Read morePine Grove is a bastion of home-cooked meals, down-to-earth staff and customers, and family-friendly restaurants that has served and will continue to serve its local community for many years. As one of those "locals" who had moved from NoVa several years ago with the intention of finding a home with quality neighbors and a place where a friend's referral was better than any aggregated review website, I love the atmosphere and people of Pine Grove. Pine Grove is 'what you see is what you get.' The food is good, well-priced (especially in context that 10 minutes east and most restaurants are 20% higher in price), the staff are friendly, and it's a family-friendly place to pop in. If you are looking for something touristy and "unique"...this place is not for you...and that's okay, there's plenty of other places for that nearby. But if you want to meet the 'real' people of Clarke County, friendly faces, have some good food in a relaxed environment conducive of the mountain surrounding it,...
Read moreThere was a restaurant that I used to go occasionally, and when I heard it got bought out I wasn’t too happy. However, many of the employees worked there now work here with the same menu! This restaurant is a little out of the way since there is no advertisement along the roadside (but the food will make up for it!) If you’re going to come to Pine Grove you have to get the onion rings. Why you may ask… the reason is they make it out of funnel cake batter! This restaurant is a little whole in the wall, but it’s clean and good homemade cooking. I ordered the Blue Ridge Burger and it comes with onion rings, blue cheese, and bacon. I absolutely loved it! My family members ordered the chop sirloin and the chicken salad sandwich. They both enjoyed their meal. Like I said… if you plan to eat here you must get the onion rings! I’ll definitely be back.
