What an absolute Gem we have here in Big Rapids. I had gone here to get pizza a while ago and since that time I had noticed that Crusted Creations 231 had done a menu upgrade and some remodeling. Well let me tell you it was more than I expected in every way.
First when you walk in you are greeted with the original very nice seating area and the area you will place your order. My eyes quickly darted to my left and I could see a softly lite room (I love mood lighting).
I couldn’t stop myself from wandering around the establishment before ordering. The room to the left is set up with a future bar (pending liquor license) and ample seating spaces for any size gathering/party.
I excited the room and went to the room on the right and it reminded me a on old Happy Days type large booth seating. There you will find a doorway that leads to the Purple Door (axe throwing - closed for the summer due to slower business).
I can only imagine once they get their liquor license what a fun night of gathering with friends for a good meal, go throw some Axe’s around, and go end the evening with a drink and cozy up to the spacious bar.
Now the food. The Parm Bites are to die for! So good. The Cheese Curds cooked perfectly so not over done but a refreshing gooey delight. The burger was seasoned perfectly. I had the bacon burger my wife had the cheeseburger. The Fries - oh those wonderful fries. Crisp outer texture and soft and fluffy inside. Perfect side to your hamburger.
The service was excellent - good natured, fast, attentive. The pricing? To me it is almost too affordable. $10.99 for a burger and fries? Parm Bites $6.99? Well if that is what they deem to be fair then my only question is why is this place not flooded with people with a line out the door?
My one honest comment since I drive by there a lot is this. When I see the parking lot empty I almost (to myself) think I don’t want to pull in and put an order in and “inconvenience” them. No one is there then I will go in and make them fire up the grille and cook just for me.
Well that was a shame that I felt that way. They have orders they are preparing as I noticed lots of people coming in for carry out - lots of pizzas going out. So no it was an “inconvience” they took my order - fit it in quickly in between the carry out orders and what a shame I have been missing out on this place.
The ambiance is spectacular - the food amazing and service impeccable! If you have not stopped in please do yourself a favor and do so - sooner than later. Let’s all support...
Read moreGreat pizza! Welcome-so nice to have an independent pizza shop in town (lots of chains; although Jets ain’t too bad…). Love the energy of the space beginning with tunes greeting you outside as you approach the door, big screens on the walls, retro shop decor, garage door wall that opens -all pretty cool for a pizza joint ( I would hang out here to eat for sure). Since it was a solo stop, I got the personal pan to go -very tasty. Interesting price structure; one price ($9.99) but unlimited toppings. I loaded mine making it basically a meat lovers (bacon, ground beef, pepperoni, sausage) then with veggies too (red pepper and FRESH mushrooms, others…). Subs, salads RIBS and a couple other menu items you would not see at the chains. Very friendly staff! Not sure if they deliver but next time you think about a pizza, pizza give these guys a shot-you won’t be...
Read more(Adjusted review since owner doesnt care to hear what customers have to say). The place looks great when you walk in. Walk up to counter to order. There are 2 separate menus which was confusing. In the middle of ordering one of the cooks needed help from the person taking our order. Took about 15 minutes for our parm bites to arrive and another 15 for our small 8 inch pizzas. The parm bites where extremely garlic, to the point that we could not eat them. It tasted almost like raw garlic. I ordered the chicken and waffle pizza and my wife got the spinach dip pizza. The waffle bits on my pizza were burnt, and the bacon on my wife's spinach pizza tasted chemically. We loved the way the place looked, just overall dissapointed with the food...
