My wife and I went to dinner on February 16th. We arrived at Applebee's at 8:30 p.m. We were greeted and sat promptly. Our waiter Keith was the best thing about the establishment all night. He did an amazing job taking our order. All of the issues that we had were not because of anything that he did. So to get into the night we will start with our appetizers coming out cold. I also noticed that they were storing old food containers in the window where the food was also being held for the waiters and waitresses to pick up and deliver to customers. We noticed a couple of the staff sitting off to the side and eating them going back behind the counter to do work and then return back to their table and finish eating. One of the gentlemen I watched pick up an alcoholic drink and take it to his table and it had a shooter in it. After he had sat and drank and talked to other employees he kept getting up and going behind the serving area. Another staff had a bloody nose and was walking around with a paper towel to his face. He was walking back and forth between the bar and the pickup window and then he would come out onto the floor with the paper towel to his nose. He finally went to the bathroom after about 5 minutes.
I ordered mozzarella sticks at as and appetizer. They came out cold with the cheese lukewarm. I was given my food first. I ordered parmesan shrimp and steak with broccoli, mashed potatoes and a side of coleslaw. My broccoli was room temperature. My mashed potatoes were barely warm. I ended up taking the steak home. Coleslaw was good. My wife still had not gotten her food. They had overcooked her steak and we're fixing it. She ordered French onion soup and Bourbon Street steak with with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Her french onion soup was cold. The cheese had sat so long that it wouldn't melt. She had to cut it into it. She ordered her steak rare and it came overcooked even though they were "fixing" it. She never received her broccoli.
The dining room had stuff all over the floor. It hadn't been cleaned and picked up. There were silverware on the floor. There was paper on the floor. There was food underneath our table. While we were eating the employee, the one that had the bloody nose, took that time to vacuum the booth behind us. I took pictures...
Read moreThis has to be one of THE WORST Applebee's we have ever eaten at. This review is more based on the service, and not the food. We were greeted and seated 6/4/25 @ 3:45 pm as soon as we walked in by a tall, thin young man with shaggy hair. Got menu's and gave our drink order and asked for a couple minutes to look at menus. This is when the visit went south. Pretty sure the young man that seated us was not a normal service staff as he was seating people, answering phones, and taking table orders. He disappeared, and we ended up flagging down another server and asked for our server. She had to go find him. He finally returned and took our order. He brought our drinks, and a few minutes later our app we ordered. Again gone. We had to go to another table to get ketchup. Food wasn't a long wait as the place was very slow. The young man brought out meals and was on his way. Again, we had to flag down another server to get my refill for the all-you-can-eat $15.99 meal. Asked for the coleslaw that was supposed to come with it, and oop! They were out of coleslaw! WHAT? When we were done, we had to ask another server to get a togo box and ask for our check. Our server never came back to check drinks, see how the food was, see if we needed anything. There was obviously no management on the property. Several of the servers that weren't waiting on tables were laughing and joking around about who was heading out back with everyone else while they waited for customers. At one point, one of the girls said she couldn't hear a song that was playing, so our server got up from a booth that he was setting at and went and turned the music up so loud they had to shout at each other. IT. WAS. A. DISASTER! Our server finally brought our check and waited for payment which was cash. He took the bill and the cash and he was gone. We never did get a bill we could keep. NEVER AGAIN ST. JOHNS...
Read moreWorst meal I have ever had in my life. This wasn't our first visit either. We stopped on our way through St.Johns 1 month earlier and it was horrible. We had taken our grandchildren to the zoo and thought we would give them another try. What a mistake. Service was nonexistent. Ordered meals and waited 40 min. in the freezing cold dining room. We are in Michigan and it's mid October 48° degrees outside. Why is the air-conditioning still running? Maybe turn it off, save some money and stop raising your prices. Then you could afford to pay more servers. Finally my grandsons kids meal came 10 minutes before everyone else's . It was already barely warm so we had him eat it but then he got to sit and watch us eat when ours finally came. Needless to say sitting still at that point was hard. He had already been sitting in the booth for an hour. When the food finally did come my husband's burger was good however the bun was burnt. I'm not sure how a bun that hard and that dark even leaves the kitchen. He had to flag down another waitress to find our waitress for us. He ask for a new bun and did get one within a decent amount of time but still the burger was no longer hot and the fries were mushy. My grandson and I both ordered the classic sampler platter. Both spinach artichoke dips were burnt. Both of our quesadillas were burnt, the chips were nasty and greasy and we got over done cheese curds instead of Mozzarella sticks. Funny how we aren't allowed to switch items out on the sampler platter but they can do it at will. Overall just a horrible experience. My husband asked the manager if they were understaffed and he said he didn't know he had just gotten there a half hour earlier. You mean to tell me you've been here a half hour and you don't know if you're understaffed or not?? The visiting manager gave my husband 2 $5 coupons for future visits which we will...
