Thai food and beautiful wine, yes please. I was eating hotdogs and burgers for a week camping at Keith Charters State Park in Traverse City. Need some spice. I actually went in to taste wine at Hawkins (what’s up Stranger Things) and I saw the Thai food signs. So glad I found this gem. I ordered the Green Curry and it was so damn good. So so good. Fresh ingredients and spicy. Riesling was a good pairing with it. Anyways there’s too many doors at this joint but either way you get three options, wine tasting room, Thai deliciousness, or buy your best Auntie some obscure yard ornaments. And your food comes in metal tin to go pie plates. Heat the leftovers up right over your campfire. This was a great treat.

It was a nice experience but as We were tasting our Wines my Girl and I both agreed that these tasted very simular to another Winery we both Enjoy often. So She asked if by chance these wines we were tasting were relabeled Fenn Valley Wines and to our happiness they are bottled there for Hawkins. But the Atmosphere here is worth the stop. Fen does alot of Bottling-relabeling for many places all over Michigan and We can usually mark it when we have it and when we ask we haven’t ever been wrong yet. They are marketing geniuses

What a find! We came here to do a wine tasting, and ended up having lunch. The wines were quite pleasant, the bartender/ waiter was very helpful and friendly. The shock though was the quality of the food. The chef was trained at a culinary institute in Thailand, and it shows. I had the cashew chicken and my wife had the pad tai. We also had spring rolls. We loved all the dishes. The portions were huge and we had to take some home. Even the desserts were quite good. We will definitely be back.

I really wanted to like the Pad Thai but it was the worst I have ever had. I understand it was suppose to be authentic but the wide mushy noodles and the heavy cream sauce on it was nothing like i have ever seen. I tried to have a couple bites but it was just terrible. The noodles should be tender and these were just mush. The Pad Thai should have a light amber fish sauce and this was some brown coconut broth like sauce. The taste was horrible. I have been to many places for Pad Thai and even reviewed Alton Brown's episode on "Good Eats" showing what makes great Pad Thai. It should be light and fresh and this was just brown gravy over mush noodles. Simply the worst i have ever had. I explained to the waiter that I didn't like the Pad Thai and he simply said this is the same as they would serve in the streets of Bangkok. He said i must be used to the sweet sauce. I said the noodles were mushy and there was no fish sauce. I'm not looking for sweet sauce. I'm looking for fish sauce on firm rice noodles like you typically find in Pad Thai. He took the dish away and simply said "I'm sure the cook will work with you on the price". I was charged $6.95 for a plate i didn't eat. I was never asked if there was something else or a way to replace the dish. I was very disappointed and strongly suggest not ordering...

Stopped in with my family ordered a pizza. My wife was going to have a margarita but noticed in the cooler they had angry orchards for 9.99 so she asked if she could have them in the restaurant with the pizza.all was fine unroll we got the bill they charged us 33.00 for the angry orchards..when we asked why the man behind the bar told us if we are outside they would have been 9.99 but because we had them in the restaurant they were 5.50 each. I argued with the man for a good 10 minutes and he said "this is a small business and we have to make money some how". I walked out my wife stayed and demanded to pay the marked price...bottom line is do not eat here it seems that customer service means nothing here. They will over charge you if they think they can get away with it.......there are to many nice places in the area with good service and food do your self a favor and...

Wife And I took a three day vacation for the “Michigan wine country” experience. Neither of us know much about wines and this was actually our first stop. I wish we would’ve known this would’ve been the best winetasting experience all of the three day weekend. The establishment wasn’t busy, the host was patient and knowledgeable. The most important part is they had the better tasting wines. The wineries within the peninsula were much less personable. Some of the bigger ones pushed my wife and I through like it was a McDonald’s drive-through, not at all like the experience we had an received at the Hawkins farm cellars. My favorite was the currant attraction and my wife’s was the cherry wine, we brought home some bottles of that. Thanks again for the wonderful time.

Worth noting tastings on the peninsula not allowed to serve food, however able to sell cheese and...
