Went for lunch at 130 on a Sunday. Busy when we got there, 20 minute wait. No problem.
Sat down ordered food. They didn't have a few things on the menu, ran out. Still no big deal, the regulars we were with say that happens. We got our drinks right away, but food never came. People that were seated after us got food, we didn't.
We asked 2 different employees to check on our food, neither one came back with a response. A 3rd different employee, not our waiter (assume manager), came and asked if everything was fine. We told him we had been waiting over 40 minutes and he was dismissive and says it can take a while to cook burgers from scratch, but he would check anyway.
He came back and told us the check got "eaten by the machine" so our order was never made. He said he re entered it and put a priority on it, offered us a free round of drinks.
3 of 4 meals finally came 20 minutes later, but the 4th burger never came until we asked about it again. At this point the employee apologized and comped our meal.
We never hear from our original waiter again, even though he was still serving other tables. We would have expected an apology from him, but it was clear he was embarrassed since he would never look our way.
The table next to us also had a similar experience, though with drinks. They had to keep going to the bar to get them since the waiter was non-existant.
Our friends live down the street and are regulars, though have never been on a Sunday they have never had this experience before and always found the food and service to be excellent. They are hoping this was just a 1 off instance.
0 stars for original waiter service. 0 stars for initial dismissive manager reaction. 1 star for final apology and offer to make it right. 1 star for the food, because the burger was really good...
Read moreWe recently used Saw’s Juke Joint as the caterer for our daughter’s wedding on October 3, 2020 at the Hoover Randle Home. This was the best decision we could have made. We dealt with Scott Owen for our catering. He was absolutely the best hands down! He went above and beyond to make sure that the presentation was as beautiful as it was delicious. Scott even went out to the venue to look at the location and their amenities to make sure he had everything he needed in order to make my daughter’s wedding day perfect. I didn’t even ask him to do this for us. He just wanted to make sure everything was perfect.
On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly, and everyone was so courteous and polite. They did an incredible and professional job! Scott got there a few hours before the wedding to ensure presentation was perfect and then went back and got the food, so it would be served at the proper temperature. Everyone at the wedding absolutely loved the food. I am still getting compliments on it. We even had people wanting to take home a to go plate which Scott happily boxed up plates for them. We chose to serve a lot of different menu items and our guests loved it all. I have used typical catering companies in the past, but I will say that Saw’s excelled over those companies. The food was delicious, presentation was beautiful, service was exceptional, and the price was very affordable. I highly recommend...
Read moreFood is mediocre at best. Fortunately, we had an awesome server named Kaylee. On 2/11, a friend and I went to hear my lifelong friend perform. We had been seated at our table long enough that Kaylee had taken our food order. Man claiming to be manager came over and told us table had been "reserved" for "people with the band." The table supposedly had been held more than an hour for them, but no sign. I informed him I, too, was "with the band." We were a party of two at a table for four. He made us move two tables over. Eight or more people then squeezed around the table for four. They blocked the walkway where other patrons could not get past. They proceeded to get loud and drunk. We saw they were "cut off" before 9 pm. They got so loud, that between them and the people at the table between us, talking loud enough to hear over the drunks, that we could barely hear the performers singing and definitely couldn't hear anything said between songs. If it had been a full-fledged bar, it would have been understandable, but this is supposedly a "family friendly" restaurant.
IMO, the "manager" should have stepped up and compensated us for the move, but he offered nothing. Kaylee did adjust our bill. She was extremely embarrassed at the overall situation. This was our second visit, and we had Kaylee as our server both times. She is very professional. Iffy if we will be back...
