I've been holding onto this review for some time now and I can't wait for yall to check this one out.
Everyone knows how much I love pizza and how I'm always trying to find the best pizza. Uncle G's Pizza has been on my list for a long time and a few weeks ago I was finally able to hunt them down and try their Detroit style pizza for the first time.
I got four slices with 3 of them being Margarita, Pepperoni, and a Meatlovers.
I'll start with the Margarita pizza since this one was my least favorite. Don't get me wrong it was good just not to my liking. The reason for that was whenever I have had a Margarita pizza it was always basically a thinner crust pizza so the doughyness of it threw me off a bit but like I said was still good still very flavorful. 3/5
Next up the Pepperoni which was probably my favorite. I grabbed the sauce they give you to pour on top and like a Food Wars: character my shirt nearly came off. Everything here was perfectly balances from the amount of Pepperoni to the edge to edge cheese and the marinara sauce! 5/5
The meatlovers slice not much to say here it was great as well you got your sausage, bacon, Pepperoni what more could you ask for besides poring that marinara sauce on top and watching your eyes roll in the back of your head. 5/5
The 4th slice went to Tony and he loved it as well it was a meatlovers slice.
If you have not had Uncle G's Pizza before you need to check them out asap which it's their food truck or there new brick and mortar restaurant set to open up March 27 of 2024 in Hoover, AL!
Uncle G's is now in my top 10 favorite pizzas of all time and they get a solid 9.2/10 from me.
Honorable mention to the cinnamon rolls that they have. I forgot to...
Read moreOrdered garlic bread sticks, a whole margarita pizza, and 4 slices of pizza (margherita, pepperoni, fig special, Dal white sauce one).
They were parked at Avondale brewery. Waited an hour for the pizza to be ready for pick up.
My margherita slice was burnt pretty badly so I really couldn’t enjoy it or have an opinion about the flavor. The other whole margherita pizza was dropped off at a friends so I didn’t get a chance to taste.
From the slices I could eat... Pepperoni pizza was nothing to brag abt. Only tasty part was the pepperoni. The Dal was supposed to have parm garlic cream base—wouldn’t have known unless I read the menu. Very little garlic but still somewhat tasty. Tastes most of spinach and onion. Taste is light and they use fresh ingredients. The fig pizza was also tasty if you like sweet and salty flavor. All the pizzas are very bready— soft and fluffy.
Garlic sticks had the garlic randomly dropped on top. Not spread out evenly, so some pieces were heavy on garlic and some had none.. guess it would be good if you had a mixed group of people who like heavy garlic vs none.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t spend $80 here again. Would go for a slice or two of some special type slices. I might go for the Dal or fig again if they were the only option of a food truck at an event.
Update: my friends said they thoroughly enjoyed the margherita pizza that I dropped off. So much so, that they went back to the truck to buy more. I’ll have to try the...
Read moreI was hearing pretty great things about this place so I decided to try it out and I am severely letdown. I ordered my pizza at 9 am in the morning ready for it to be picked up at 12:30 pm. I get to the place at 12:15 because I got a text message saying that it was ready however that didn’t happen so I ended up waiting 30 minutes for my pizza to be ready. Here’s the thing I would be less annoyed if they sent the message when it was actually supposed to be picked up instead of making me wait that long. That’s not even getting into the quality of the pizza, what I got was a soggy pizza with toppings in a complete mess and the dough wasn’t even cooked all the way which is ironic considering I asked for the pizza to be well done. I paid more than 20 dollars for this pizza and I expect it to be at the very least passable, this wasn’t that. I’m only giving another star instead of a one because the people at the truck were respectable. Outside of that I did not enjoy this experience in the slightest and frankly I don’t think I’ll ever feel like...
