My family of 4 decided to take a day trip from Phoenix having never been to Bisbee. After enjoying a local attraction as our first stop we then headed to this location around noon. The hostess had informed us the wait would be about 25 minutes. My family and I were finally able to get seated almost an hour later along with another group that had just arrived.

As our two different parties were getting seated one waitress was already calling dibs on the other group even though my family had waited longer to get a table. The host did get our drinks right away and then we waited as the other table, and then two more tables got seated, drinks, and food ordered. Just as I was looking up the closest Burger King, our waitress took our order and apologized about the confusion as shift changes (or table assignments) had caused her to overlook our family.

The menu was standard diner food and I'm positive I would have enjoyed it more if not for the terrible service. The men's room was messy (I had to clear the sink of paper towels to wash my hands) and when the bill came one of the hosts informed me that I could just take the bill to the register myself instead of having the waitress cash is out (even though she was able to cash out her other tables with no problem).

The only explanation I can think of as to why my family was overlooked, or why nobody was calling dibs to serve us is too disgusting to entertain. We agreed that Bisbee is the kind of town that is not for our demographic based solely on our experience here. We headed back to Phoenix right after...

We really like the Bisbee Breakfast Club in Tucson, and finally got a chance to visit the original. The staff is really friendly, and love the atmosphere. But oh my goodness, I had probably the worst breakfast I’ve ever had—really shocked.

I ordered the Huevos Rancheros “Christmas style” (half red sauce, half green chile); my husband ordered Biscuits and Gravy. The order came really quickly, which is great. But my poor rancheros were a cold, gloppy mess.

To me it wasn’t really Huevos Rancheros at all, it was a tortilla crisp: a fried corn tortilla covered with about 1 1/2 cups of smeared refried beans which were lukewarm at best, topped not with red sauce but with jarred tomato salsa which was cold—refrigerator cold. On top of that were my eggs, which were cooked well, and some melted cheese (fast broiler job) and on top of that refrigerator-cold sliced avocado. I got through the egg and avocado and thank goodness there was a hot flour tortilla to eat a bit more, but the minimal green chile was watery and (yes, cold) and it was a soupy, untasty mess—and at $13.29, shockingly expensive for such poor fare. My husband’s biscuits were delicious but they were also lukewarm, not even remotely hot.

We love the Tucson eatery on Broadway but this is a sad shadow!

Final straw: the bathrooms were gross. Men’s was filthy and women’s had no toilet paper, dirty floor, water running in a dirty sink. It was only 10 am so these have not been cleaned in days. Too much success and not enough attention to detail any more, BBC?...

Fantastic. If you're ever in the Bisbee/Lowell area you really should stop in and eat. We did on 1/9/2021 and it was great! My wife ordered the chicken fried steak and she wanted to split with me. The waitress instantly offered to split it on plates from the kitchen. I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy with additional sausage stuff. The chicken fried steak was on point, best I've eaten in 30 years at least. Scrambled eggs were smooth and tasty, cooked perfectly. Hash browns.... real and amazing. The biscuits and gravy were loaded with so much extra stuff... bacon, ham, cheese, and sausage. They were biscuits and gravy on steroids... fantastic. Our friends both ordered burgers, one with fries, one with onion rings. Both burgers were cooked perfectly to order, huge, and great. I tried on onion ring and those too were fantastic. I can't speak personally on the fries as I didn't try them but my buddy said they were great. Our server was attentive, efficient, friendly, recommended items when asked, and provided superior service. Food was on our table within 7-9 minutes... super fast and perfect. I really wish I had her name so I could give her proper respect here for how good she was at her job. I can't say enough good things about our experience there. Not sure if we'll ever visit Bisbee again but if we do we will return to the Bisbee Breakfast Club. I highly recommend this...

Be prepared to wait. We didn't mind the "20 min" wait but those "20 min" turned into an hour. We would have gone elsewhere but we had just finished the amazing mine tour & we were hungry. Most places didn't open until the afternoon. We got seated, the host got us our drinks quickly and then we were promptly disregarded. We gave each other the "we should leave" look as the table that was seated after us had received their drinks and got their order in. Just as we were about to get up to go, the waitress showed up and apologized for having missed us, even though 2 other tables had come in and were already waiting on food. We finally got our order in, my husband got his toast well before his order was ready and the waitress gave us "an accidental extra wheat toast to munch on as we waited." The host who seated us was the shining star of this establishment, kind and courteous, excited we decided to visit Bisbee. The food was standard diner fare. I got their signature sandwich, the Erie Club and only half of my sandwich had green chiles. By this time, I didn't make mention of this since we had already spent an exorbitant amount of time. Unfortunately, we didn't feel welcomed, we were overlooked and will not be returning to this restaurant.

One of the only surviving businesses in the funky, must-visit ghost town of Lowell, and it’s thriving. Stepping into this diner is like stepping back 60 or 70 years, which is appropriate for this town, where time stopped about that many years ago. Sadly, there were no available seats at the lunch counter, which is usually our first choice almost anywhere, so we enjoyed a table in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Of course the menu — reflecting the joint’s name — offers a broad selection of yummy-sounding breakfast throwbacks, along with some “South of the Border” options (the border is only minutes south). But we arrived at lunchtime. The lunch menu offers “House Specialties” and “Gourmet” burgers, so we shared one of each. You have to love any restaurant with the slogan “When in doubt add bacon,” especially if it sells t-shirts that say so (we bought a short sleeve and a long sleeve). Both our Grilled Cheese with Tomato (which also had bacon) and the Gooey Louie burger (which also had bacon) were excellent, as was the service. BBC also offers housemade desserts but we were stuffed by lunch. This place is a must, only a few miles past Bisbee. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice
