Tortas Chano — Restaurant in Black Canyon City

When you walk in, your surrounded by 20 second fame, and a bunch of pictures with their name and logo on there. Do not be fooled by anything they tell about their ingredients being fresh. I ordered a carne asada burrito and my wife a carne torta. They don’t heat any tortillas for your orders. The carne meat is re heated or microwaved because the meat is in light color and hard. The torta has shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese.... lol not event Mexican cheese. I don’t know what is going on at anthem, but with all of these positive reviews on here, it shows that this area has no idea what simple Mexican food is. No salsa bar, the waiter has no idea what a “Milanese” torta is. We did not eat our food and tossed it out immediately, including our kids nasty tacos. Go across to Filiberto’s and the food is much better and they have an actual salsa bar. Sorry Torta Chanos, but this is not fair for the residents in Anthem. You won’t fool everyone with what your doing. Just look up Los Reyes de la torta and see what an actual torta is, and not the four cold options you...

I've read many of the reviews and many are positive, I only wish I felt the same, I don't care how good a restaurants food is, if I walk in and the place is dirty it a complete turn off for me. My wife and I had been told this was a great little place to get good mexican food so on Saturday April 16 we decided to grab a late lunch, we both used the restrooms to wash our hands, we both came out with the same response, the restrooms weren't clean and had a sewage odor, mind you it's about 2 pm well after a lunch rush but the restaurant was dirty, floors, tables, overflowing garbage, everything needed attention. As for the food, I had the shredded beef tacos with rice and beans, it was edible but seriously lacked flavor and my wife felt the same about her meal. I realize everyone has different taste when it comes to food and that's fine, like I said it's edible. But as for the cleanliness of the restaurant, there's NEVER an excuse. I hope they figure this out before...

BAD BUSINESS.....Yes 1 star. Very inconsistent with hours and food. Food can be good one night and flavorless another. However, this is only if you can get them on the phone to place an order. I called to place an order and the line was busy, so I keep trying. Since the restaurant is not that far from my house I decided to go there and place an order. I let the man know behind the counter that I was not able to get through to them on the phone and he told me that they took the phone off of the hook because it got to busy. I have tried them several times since then to see if it was just a one time deal, but its not. I called recently and wanted to place an order and it was within there hours of operation and they said that they are closing early...... My husband was right we should have stopped ordering from there sometime ago. Well that was the last time go to Plaza Bonita if you want good Mexican food and they will be open when you call during their hours...
