We were out for a Sunday ride, visiting flea markets, and decided to stop at Deans Diner in Blairsville for a late lunch/early dinner. There were only a few other customers there. Too early for the dinner rush, I suppose. First thing is always the drink order-soft drinks all around except for one IcedTea. And we ordered 2 appetizers-fried pickles and potato skins. Shortly our drinks arrived, except the iced tea. “They are making fresh iced tea, it will be a minute”. OK no problem. The wait person took our order. There were 6 of us. A few minutes later the waitress came to say “they had an accident in the kitchen, iced tea is all over the kitchen! They are making more”. We waited longer…still no appetizers, and no ICED TEA! Having a difficult time maintaining my composure by this time, I inquired if we would be getting the ICED TEA some time today? In the middle of yet another excuse, we changed the order to a soft drink—-still no appetizers! Then three of us were served our entrees! No appetizers! Maybe I have this wrong—in all my numerous years on this earth, I was apparently under the impression that APPETIZERS were meant to be served before your meal, to keep you busy while the main dish was prepared!!!! Let me tell you the situation as it stands at this point: three of us are served entrees-3of us have no food, no entree and one person is drinking a cola when he wanted ICED TEA! Here come the appetizers!!! Remember we ordered potato skins—-in my numerous years on this earth, I have never, ever seen potato skins this small (and only 3), 3 about the size of a cue ball. 1 1/2 teensy tiny potatoes!!! We are still waiting for 3 meals! Need I say more? Now I realize we are not talking about a 5 star restaurant, but this should not have happened at McDonalds or Wendy’s. Breaking the Cardinal rule of a restaurant- serve all customers at one table AT THE SAME TIME!!!! That’s not to mention the other things. Dean can expect never to see our faces again. And we will be telling everyone we know about our experience!! Oh! The food: sub par(reference the potato skins), French fries were close to being cold and on the mushy side, my fish sandwich was merely an oversized fish stick on a bun (I requested a toasted bun & that didn’t happen) The prices were great! But remember “ YOU GET WHAT...
Read moreDoesn't even deserve a 1 star . Do not bring your toddlers. It was my first time bringing my son , who is 2. Of course , when he sees salt and pepper he’s going to want to play with it and everyone who has kids knows if you take it away they’re gonna fuss. I ordered my drinks, which I didn’t even get to have. A lady who I’m assuming is the owner was talking to the table above me and I was observing my son playing with the salt and pepper waiting for his crayons to try and get him off of playing with the salt and pepper . The lady, who has gray shoulder length hair, rudely reaches over my table and says loudly “here give me the salt and pepper “. I look at her and I’m like okay maybe she wants it for her table. Then proceeds to say “I don’t want it on my table “ . I said” o I’m sorry “ my son wouldn’t give her it anyway so apparently she don’t know anything about toddlers . Lost my business as soon as that happened . I asked for the check , the waitress was very nice and I left . I just moved to Blairsville about 2 years ago and I wanted to take my son since it’s close and I’ve only been there once before . Never again will I go knowing she’s the owner and how I and my son got treated . DO NOT BRING YOUR TODDLERS OR BABIES. She will prob have a fit if she seen a mess on...
Read moreThis was my first experience here; I didn’t hate it but I was expecting more. Starting with the service. Now, they are short-handed so I understand a small delay; however when one waitress is so busy and the other waitress offers help, but the first refuses the help, I have a hard time feeling sympathetic toward the situation. Then our waitress would disappear to the back for stretches of time several times during our stay, to the point that we couldn’t even ask for anything new. Such as, she brought our food (after a near 45 min wait) but did not bring my husband’s meal. It took until we were all finished before we could even tell her there was a meal missing. She did comp us our dessert, but that is not the point, we should have been checked on with in 3-5 mins of receiving our food. And lastly, when price points on everything are; $3 for a hot ham/cheese; $1.30 for jello, and you see $14.50 for a salad; you expect the salad to be sizable. It was barely bigger than a side salad with steak-ums on it. Don’t misunderstand it was very good, but not worth $15. So I feel it was worth a neutral review. There’s a lot of kinks that need to be worked out. But over all it was okay for...
