Fantastic food and service for a decent price.

We dined at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. Don't let this fool you!

While their menu is full, and a tad overwhelming, with so many different options from sandwiches to pizza to pasta and BBQ. We stopped to try the BBQ so that's what we stuck with.

We ordered a BBQ platter for $14.99 with ribs and chicken as well as a pulled pork sandwich with 2 sides ($10.99).

The BBQ platter came with french fries, a small cup of coleslaw, and a small cup of baked beans. The ribs were excellent with the perfect char on the outside and flavored well enough to eat without sauce. The chicken was flavored well but a tad dry. The french fries were amazing, the best we've had in a long time. They were battered or double fried, not sure which, but they were delish. The beans were pretty tasty too, with a great full flavor. The coleslaw was decent; not too sweet and not too full of vinegar.

The pulled pork sandwich was great. For my personal liking, I added a bit more BBQ sauce, but otherwise it was flavored well and tender. The sides chosen were brussel sprouts and coleslaw. The brussel sprouts were delicious; perfectly steamed and served with butter, garlic, and cheese.

Our server was great too. Awesome welcoming personality and helpful with our orders.

The building wasn't much from the outside but has been redone on the inside. The bar and tables were all very nice. The decor was interestingly all over the place, no theme, but that doesn't really matter.

I was visiting family in the area and popped into AJ's to for a quick bite on my way out. There was a really strAnge energy right when I walked in and the person serving me had tears in their eyes like they'd been yelled at or something. I asked for the coco but shrimp which took a lloooong time to get to me and by the time I got it was cold !??? I asked who I thought was the manager about it and he gave me this flippant response that they only had two cooks and if I wanted faster service to make a reservation. He then turned around and screamed at the staff. I didn't mean to cause so much commotion I just wanted some food and to go on my way. Don't know how this place is still in business. Just an overall off putting...

Second visit canceled out the first experience. First experience the place was a little empty got great service from the owner and the food was excellent. Second time went back with friends, place was rowdy, food was barely passable, and the bar tender was a crook. Wouldn't risk going back after the last experience, too bad I wanted to find a bbq place for me and the guys. We're still...
