I have two complaints to make. Not open at times when on my work days I can visit, and the home fries were maybe a tad underdone to my tasting.
With the negatives over, I can get on to raving about the food. I've only eaten from here twice (once was a takeout), but recently had a sit down breakfast. Got here right at opening on a Saturday, seated right away and got to deciding what to order. Landed on trying the Italian Benedict. Never had a benedict before, wanted to try something different from the standard, and it didn't disappoint one bit. Crispy Italian bread, creamy sauce, perfectly cooked eggs, all of it combining together to be a wholly satisfying breakfast experience. Then with all that leftover sauce and egg yolk on the plate, used the home fries to sop it all up.
Prior to this a coworker wanted to eat from here, and offered to pick up orders for the rest of us if we wanted anything. I saw a reuben on the menu, and when I see a reuben, I order a reuben. And this one definitely didn't disappoint, an absolute gem of a sandwich, damn near perfect to me in every aspect minus some slightly soggy bread, which I can easily chalk up to the fact that it was takeout and it took a bit of time for me to get to it, so certainly not a negative on the people who made it. Needs to be eaten immediately after making one to get 100% perfection, which I just didn't have the chance to do. Apart from that, maybe I'd prefer a bit more sauerkraut on my sandwich, but personal preference.
Anyone who's wanting a gold standard breakfast or a proper satisfying lunch, maybe give this place a try. I can see after eating here why this place is only open four to six hours a day, food is so good people WILL buy it. Looking forward to my next visit.
Edit, downed a star.
Recently came back because of what looks to be a varying amount of quality. Ordered the Italian Benedict again, and it was the exact opposite of how I had it my first time. Soggy Italian toast, cold roasted peppers. Hoping it's more of a one off 'oops we made a mistake' think, because before this meal it was always a delight to sit down, relax and enjoy the meal. I'm not gonna go 'how dare you' on this place, I get how prep works. It'd be ridiculous on some menu items to prepare fresh to order. Just make sure it's hot is all, nothing worse than expecting a piping hot breakfast and then a stone cold mouth feel.
Still props to the home fries, my biggest...
Read moreI highly recommend this restaurant it’s a little place but the big things that come out of here are second to none hands-down I highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth trying the sugar cookie baked French toast. They do not have it all the time so you have to call and make sure they have that one because she makes new ones every single week on top of the food being second to none. I will also completely brag about the way they address you when you arrive. They treat you as though your family or a friend and not just a number. I do unfortunately frequent takeout and it’s just part of our life right now because of how busy it is I have never found a place that even comes close to comparing to the quality of this food every single time I have never had my order wrong nor have I ever had it not be cooked...
Read moreNot a fast service place. Everyone except me was greeted by name and chatted. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant. Don’t get mad if you have to wait, it’s worth it. Surprisingly for a bakery the pancakes were a bit lackluster. They were kind of heavy and had a Bisquick taste. Now for the five star stuff. The Eggs Benedict were banging! Skip the pancakes and hit the Italian Eggs Benedict. There’s no pepperoni in it. That just makes it greasy and gross... they use some really good pesto. Not sure if it’s home made but it’s fragrant and amazingly balanced. Not overwhelming. This is not a fast stop! My waitress was spunky and made me smile on...
