Step aside, mere mortal dessert establishments—for Giff’s Ice Cream Shoppe is less a shop and more a full-blown spectacle of frozen ecstasy. If Willy Wonka had ditched the chocolate factory and moved to Pennsylvania with a freezer in tow, this would be his magnum opus.
Let’s talk flavors: each scoop is a creamy sonnet, churned by what I can only assume are dairy-loving angels wearing aprons and good intentions. One bite of their Cookie Monster flavor and I temporarily forgot my social security number. I asked for one scoop; they handed me a summit-worthy scoopzilla balanced precariously on a waffle cone throne, daring gravity to defy it.
The vibe? Oh honey. It’s got small-town charm sprinkled in rainbow jimmies, with a staff friendlier than a golden retriever at a barbeque. Whether you arrive in sweatpants, ballgown, or dressed as a sentient banana (don’t ask), they will greet you like you’re royalty. Possibly dessert royalty.
And the pricing? Let’s just say your wallet leaves feeling respected. You could walk in with crumpled bills from your car’s cupholder and still walk out with a sundae that makes you question whether you’ve peaked in life.
Final verdict: Giff’s isn’t just a stop—it’s a pilgrimage for the palate. May your cones be tall, your sprinkles be plentiful, and your brain freezes be mercifully brief.
Now, should I start drafting a hymn to their hot fudge, or would that...
Read moreSoo i have tried this place a couple of different times this summer, because i seriously wanted to like it, but i just don’t. I am a lover of ice cream in general , so it doesn’t take much to make my taste buds happy as far as frozen treats go. That being said, their soft ice cream is DISGUSTING. First time i went i got a plain vanilla cone. No fancy stuff to hide the pure taste of the ice cream. The taste had an undeniable undertone of a mix between that “freezerburnt” taste and dirty dishcloth /chemical ish. Thats the only way i can describe it. It was so bad i couldn’t push past it, and for the first time in my life, i threw away ice cream. I tried two more times at this place, thinking maybe it was a bad day, or maybe just that specific flavor. I got a chocolate sundae with brownie bites and pb sauce. The sundae was huge for the price, made nicely, and generous with toppings. But once i got a taste of the actual ice cream itself, again, DISGUSTING. I was actually shocked that people seemed to be eating it with no issues. Third and final try, same thing again. Idk if its just me, but it can’t be. I can not be the only one who thinks theres something going on with that soft serve. Its a shame, bc like i said the prices and options were absolutely great! I guess you get what...
Read moreThis place is only good for a milkshake in January when all the real ice cream shops have closed. Of course the yokels will stand waiting for Turkey Hill ice cream for an hour because they don’t know any better. We ordered two sundaes simply for BOGO sundae day just to be told they aren’t part of the promotion which makes very little sense. I had horrible soft serve with watery flavored syrup posing as banana and cheap hot fudge. Go to Jitty Joe’s for...
