I never write reviews, however this place checks every box and is so consistently fantastic I have to.
My husband and I grab take out every week and have been patrons since the café opened. It's one of the few places to eat we can both agree on-they serve up both traditional foods that he loves and interesting combinations that make me sing. I live by the mocha, smoothies, soups, baked goods, and specials. (They're ALL amazing!) This week one of the specials was a Texas Toast cheesesteak with fresh spinach, tomato, choice of cheese, and chipotle mayo sauce. I have hunted down numerous traditional and non-traditional cheesesteaks in Philly, and this sandwich in our local eatery rivaled (if not exceeded) them in terms of taste and innovation.
The owner and staff are every bit as exceptional as the food. They are always pleasant, upbeat, and accommodating, even when I have complicated orders. One time my husband picked up a to-go order when I wasn't feeling well and our waitress had even written a get well message on my soup.
The café is always clean and well-decorated, and it sits on the town square. There's nothing better than a coffee, a window seat, and watching the...
Read moreFirst time I stopped in during pandemic. Just wanted plain coffee to go and coffee was good flavor and bold. Not weak as muddy water. My issue was with lady at register that got my coffee. She didn't wear a mask and she used bare hands putting on my coffee lid, as her fingers touched the drinking spout. Plus, she was on Bluetooth on her phone. Yes, I got what I ordered. But do you think she could have waited to talk to someone until my order was complete? She was talking out load and I was wondering looking around who she was talking too. Role reversal of unprofessional. Generally it's the customer that won't put the phone away when ordering. And yes, I wore a mask. I may not like the guidelines, but I'm trying to do my part. No one has to wonder why cases are up in Perry County... Too many I see just aren't on-board....
Read moreSadly, I was not impressed. I gave it another shot today. My fiance called and asked if I wanted a latte on his way home. The first and second time I've had a drink from there, my $8 latte tasted like syrup water. Both times my extra shot of espresso was 1 shot, ran through the machine, twice. It's very disappointing. Either the girl has no idea what she is doing or she is too lazy to actually make the coffee correctly but is still charging for the extra shot. Both times, I've dumped my $8 drink bc I couldn't drink it. I rarely write reviews but I truly am rooting for this business to do well, so please someone teach this girl how to...
