Went this last Fri and was in the mood for chips, guac and a good margarita so we tried this place. It wasn't great unfortunately. Seating was confusing. They seemed scattered and maybe short staffed for a Friday night. Two tops are pretty small and when she brought a whole pitcher of water w/ no glasses it took up a good portion of the table. We asked them to take the pitcher away. We got chips/salsa and she took our drink order fairly promptly. I got the special marg and my husband got a beer. Though my cocktail was good, the table next to us got their classic margs in glasses. My special was in a small plastic water cup. We knocked back the chips but they were pretty salty and nothing special. Food took a really long time and I know they were a bit busy, but they close at 9 so it didn’t get any busier after we arrived at 7:30. When food finally came, she asked if we wanted another round and we said yes. She didn’t come back after that - not to bring drinks or check in or drop the check. They seemed distracted by a table of ppl they knew including one of her colleagues who left w/ those friends shortly after. Burritos were pretty bland. Mine included smoked chicken but I couldn't tell. The trio we ordered had overly salted guac, pretty boring salsa and a queso that was still liquid but lukewarm. When we finally caught our server's eye, she asked if we were all set. ? We said we never got our drinks but would take the check. She said she'd take the drinks off the bill. I figured she never rung them up but if she ordered them, and I used to wait on tables, it then rings up at the bar usually. So in my mind, the drinks had been made and were waiting for us at the bar and never delivered or the bartender somehow didn’t get the order? I don't know. She didn’t apologize or acknowledge the mistake at all though. They weren't rude, just aren't really focused on customer service and need to up the food quite a bit for...
Read moreUpdate August 2025 Went in with a group of 4. Orders All beef hotdog flight from menu which has 3 different style hot dogs. One had pork so I substituted that one for a plain dog. Halal and do not eat pork. When the food arrived one dog had a strange meat on it looked like pulled pork, which wasn't on the menu. So I asked and that's what it was. They apologized and moved to replace it but then I bit into another and noticed it was pink. Beef hot dogs are not pink. I called over the server and asked her to check with the kitchen and yep ..the hotdogs were a pork and beef mix. But the menu said ALL BEEF. This was my 3rd and last time eating here as if you read my original rating, they do not take allergies or dietary restrictions seriously. Not with the risk.
Original rating: Soft Opening this week, so be patient and give them grace. The food was great. It didn't feel heavy like typical burrito/Mexican would make you feel. We had the Barilla grill cheese and the California steak burrito. Both had great flavor. I like that the burrito wasn't overstuffed with rice and beans but was a nicely put together large pressed wrap. We went during lunch so they had a nice crowd, the cashier told us it would be a lil wait as they were backed up, but we didn't wait that long for our food. The place looks great and I love the fact they have a bar. It will go a long way with getting folks in to eat and to provide folks a place to go after work. This will be a nice addition to the area. THEY ARE OPEN FOR BREAKFAST.
Good place good food good good staff.
My only knock on the place is atmosphere. The staff isn't diverse and doesn't reflect the population of the community.
Also there is a very significant portion of the population that is kosher and halal so the meat offerings and alternatives listed...
Read moreTried TJ Burritos for the first time today after seeing great reviews. Overall, I’d say the experience was mixed. I placed a pickup order for dinner. Unfortunately, I ordered two Cajun fries but only received one.
My 3 daughters ordered a few different items:
• Buffalo shrimp and soup — the soup arrived half full. • Buffalo chicken sandwich with tots — the tots were overly salty, like someone was a bit heavy-handed. • Buffalo chicken tacos with Cajun truffle fries — she really enjoyed her meal, especially the fries.
I had the steak burrito with Cajun fries, though my fries were missing — so I can’t speak to those. But the burrito itself? Hands down the best I’ve ever had. So flavorful and well-made.
Maybe it was just a hectic day for the kitchen, and I’m open to giving them another shot. But for now, it’s 3 stars from me — mostly due to the missing items and inconsistencies in portioning...
