On three different occasions I had been quoted an approximate delivery time of 30-50 minutes. And all three times the delivery took over an hour. No apology or discounts were given.
I decided to eat in the restaurant one evening. The restaurant was empty except for me and the two people I was with. There was a cook, a manager, and a delivery driver on staff. Our order was placed and we were told it would be approximately 30 minutes, since the restaurant was closing in about one hour we figured this was plenty if time to eat. I watched as the delivery driver left with orders placed after mine.
About 45 minutes later our appetizer salad came out - with no dressing. 5 minutes before they are scheduled to close our pizza came out. At no point before the pizza came out were we given any explanation or apology for the wait. We asked for salad dressing and the cook only said "oh, I didn't do that did I?".
We began to eat, it was about 10-15 min. past their scheduled closing time when the delivery driver returned - sees that we've only begun eating - and flips out at the cook. The next half hour me and the two others I was with listened to a loud, swear-word filled, shouting match between the driver - who was shouting about how the guests in the restaurant should've been served a long time ago and before other later orders were prepared and sent - and the cook who was defending having made our order last.
We overheard the manager chime into the argument saying the guests in the restaurant should have been served in a timely manner.
To top off having to wait an hour for one XL pizza and listening to their F-word filled tirades, we were never spoken to or aknowledged by anyone - not even the manager - after our pizza was served. It was a bad experience and we decided not to tip or to order from...
Read moreI tried to order last night. I have been a loyal customer for many years. They could not deliver due to staff shortage. Understandable not upset... However, they hung up quickly so I had to call back to ask if we were being charged. I am very sick and my son has very little money. And we needed to order something else , he said no they are cancelling it...so that's what we did, ordered from somewhere else. My son went to check his account this morning and found out we were charged for the food we never received . Now has no money left.... I called this morning to get an explanation. The person answering got What he said was a manager. This man came on the phone and rudely would not listen to me and as I explained that I was very sick and had no voice.... He kept talking over me saying I was yelling when I kept tryong to explain to him what happened... I apologize I am very sick and using every bit of air that I have left to speak to you.... He told me I was yelling at him. Which is not possible and then hung up on me with no explanation. No promise of my son getting his money back. He didn't even listen. He didn't care that I told him that i've been A loyal customer for many years... I asked to speak to the owner or get the phone number for the owner or manager above him. He told me he was the owner. Basically, he didn't care any hung up on me. I hope nobody ever goes back there again. They will never see one penny from me again! Who talks to a woman like that?? What kind of person has no compassion for a sick person on the phone to take advantage of them in thier most vulnerable state? I even asked him would you appreciate Somebody talking to his mother this way?? . I guess he treats his mom just as bad as he treats...

11:31am: order lunch online. I am a nurse and have to order food delivery to arrive between patients.
12:36pm: no food has been delivered more than an hour after ordering. Call restaurant. I'm hung up on.
12:38pm: call back. Tell them I ordered 2 pizzas + cheesecake over an hour ago. The person answering asks the driver what is going on. Driver says he a) dropped my food off b) said someone in the building must have taken my food and c) says he didn't know where to drop my food off. So how did he deliver it? 🤔 I work on the first floor. I wrote in my order instructions to leave the food at the front desk. Receptionists say my pizza was never delivered. Carbone's says they will remake my food and send it out.
1:26pm: no food still. I call back. Now, the story is that they lost/never received my order. The food the driver was previously talking about was a hoagie someone else had ordered. They once again say they will make my order and deliver it. I am told my food will be comped, but, I already paid online?
2pm: food finally arrives, 2.5 hours after I placed my order. Open the box, and it is not the pizza I ordered. I had asked for white sauce, and got red. The delivery driver didn't stick around for me to sign my receipt. I was planning to tip him, despite the above. I know gas is expensive, the weather is gross, and everyone is short staffed
March 2022: My first delivery from Carbone's was great. Employees were great. Called to get clarification from me on my sandwich order. Delivery was great.
