Hardee's — Restaurant in Blountville

One of the few places I can eat while on the road is Hardee’s. I have food allergies and they make gluten-free french fries and a lettuce wrap burger. I drive thousands of miles a month. In this instance I called ahead from the interstate, like I usually do, to make sure that they were open and that they would serve lunch at 10:30. The lady I talked to said yes, they would serve at 10:30. It took me about 15 minutes to get there and I waited in the parking lot for 30 minutes for them to stop serving breakfast. I walked in at 10:35 just to be on the safe side and give them time to change over. After standing in there for a couple of minutes while they chitchatted to each other, someone did finally ask me if I was ready to order. I asked for a burger and I was told that I could not get lunch yet, that it would be at least another 15 to 20 minutes. I left because by the time I get back on the interstate I’ve spent an hour and still don’t have lunch. I had to get to my destination before bad weather hit. I was already stretching it at waiting an extra 30 minutes for them to open. I even nicely and patiently explained to them before I left that I waited in the parking lot for 30 minutes for them to start serving lunch. I was told that there was nothing they could do. The drive-through was empty and other than the five or six employees I was the only one in the restaurant. With no clear understanding of why I couldn’t get lunch at 10:35 I called shortly after leaving the parking lot because I would like an explanation in case this happens again somewhere else and I was told by the gentleman answering the phone at the store that had he known I came off the interstate and waited in the parking lot 30 minutes he would’ve served me lunch anyway. I’m not sure what this location’s food is like, I’d say on par with the rest of the Hardee’s and the place looked clean but I’m giving them a zero...

I’ve had two bad experiences here and won’t press my luck again. The first was a hair in my biscuit and gravy 🤮 the second was in the drive thru where I was able to order one combo before being given my total even though I wanted to order something else and when I told the person that she told me to add it at the window. Being aggravated I just decided to not get it so I didn’t bother telling the cashier at the window and she told me my total that I was given when ordering, without the item I said I wanted to add, so I gave her my card and then she gives it back along with a bag and said they added the additional item. Even though I never asked her to. So I told her i no longer wanted to add it and she said “oh well I already charged for it so I’ll have to have someone give you a refund.” I would think you confirm with someone before charging their card twice. She then told me she needed the item back, that was already in my car. I didn’t think they were supposed to take anything back through the window.. I gave it back and heard her tell her manager she needed to give me a refund and I come to find out the manager was who rushed through my order to begin with. As the window was still open I hear her very rudely repeating, “why did she tell me she wanted it then.” I informed her that I could hear her and that I had wanted it but since she went to fast when I was ordering that I had changed my mind about getting it and that I shouldn’t have been charged since I never added it at the window like I was told to. I honestly just think this Hardee’s is a joke. I wanted to call and speak with someone about it but I’m sure it would just be a waste of time. One person sitting inside eating. 9 tables not cleaned off of crumbs etc. Came in at 11:48 was not acknowledged after 5 minutes finally asked for our order, no hello, how are you, etc. Went to pay by card and lady walked away. No receipt, no thank you, nothing. Told she would bring our food over to us and had two order printed hanging up besides ours and one of the orders no one knew who it was for. Comforting to see how only 2 people are buying door to eat and they still were confused. Watched over 20 cars next door at pal's being served and driving away and still waiting for our food. It was then at that time 12:15 that I was getting up to get a refund and leave when the drive through lady brought us our food in a paper bag, no tray, no napkins, etc. Didn't apologize for the wait or say thank you enjoy your meal etc. She walked off. Still never cleaning the dining area. I asked the other customer who was dining if it was always like this and his reply was yes. When we finished we left our trash on the tables. I would lay odds when I am done my errands it will still be on the table along with the order ones not being cleaned.... My experience for a new person who just moved to this community. What's sad is it had Hardee's is one of my favorite places and I was so happy to see one in town. Now I understand why it always seems like it is closed. And pal's is always busy with cars lined up.
