Lulu's Diner — Restaurant in Bluffton

I was over 2 hours from home and in town to get vaccinated. I called to place a to go order and was told to hold on. After about 10 mins the call disconnected/she hung up on me. I tried to call back and busy signal. So my husband and I went in to eat. As I sat there waiting for a server I seen a guy with black hair standing at a counter next to my table, he was rolling silverware. I noticed he was grabbing the forks and spoons by the part that goes in our mouths! Someone like this probably doesn’t wash their hands after they use the restroom!! I was sickened!!! When the waiter finally came to our table I tried to tell her that we called to place an order but was hung up on. She said ok what can I get you? I then tried to tell her the phone was off the hook because it was still ringing busy, while I sat there with no one on the phone. She interrupted again and said what can I get you! I said we just wanted to place a to go order and told her what we wanted. She then proceeded to go behind the counter and said something in the ear of another waiter, heavier set girl who then turned and looked at my husband and I. Hmmm.. 🤔 About 10 mins later I notice 2 large and 4 small to go containers were placed in the window by the chef, A few mins later the skinnier girl grabbed them and placed them by the cash register. I thought they were mine but then she proceeded to go to other tables to buss and then even served two other tables their meals that had since been placed in the chefs window, after the to go order, I assumed the to go meal for for someone else. A few mins later she goes back to the cash register and bags the containers and brings them to our table. I asked why our food sat so long before bringing them to us and she said we have other tables, with an attitude. I said well their meals were finished way after ours and asked to speak to management. She told me there was no manager so I said keep your cold food and we left! Went to steak and shake and had an amazing steak burger!!! I worked in this type of industry for many years and could not believe what these employees were doing. Slow, rude and horrible hygiene!!! I will also be calling the health department. Bad for business but if management doesn’t care enough to train and guide there employees I don’t care to hurt the business! Do better,...

If I could give zero stars I would. We came to LuLu’s on Dec 10th for my birthday. There were 3 in my party. It was super busy so we understood when we sat at our table for 15 minutes without anyone coming to the table. When our server did get to our table she was friendly. She took our drink order and our food order at that time. Twenty minutes later one person in my party got all of their food and the other person had their steak delivered. Nothing else in their order and non of mine. The steak wasn’t cooked all the way so I stopped our server and told her it wasn’t correct. 10 more minutes went buy and they brought the steak out but again nothing else came with it. Table’s around us got seated and their food. I finally had enough and went up to my server and told her I wanted the food taken off my bill and I just wanted the bill for the one complete order. She was very apologetic and said she’d get everything made and even if she had to pay our bill we wouldn’t owe anything. We waited another 15 minutes after that to have our order delivered on plates with to go boxes so we could box up our own food. This was our first visit to the Bluffton location and our last. Really too bad. This used to be a good place to go eat but somethings happened the last couple of time we were here. Service has been slow the last few times but the food would bring us back. This time, it was over an hour after when we set down to get our cold food. My spouse couldn’t eat hers as the eggs were cool to the touch. I couldn’t eat mine as the poached eggs were basically hard boiled. I ended up putting her cold eggs over my cold hash so I had something to eat at least. The bread was almost soggy and the fruit was, not even sure what was wrong with it. The pineapple instead of being yellow and sweet was almost white and tart. Overall very disappointed in today’s experience. If not for the waitress, it would have rated an even lower rating than a 1. She was embarrassed by what all happened and was almost in tears over how the whole day was going there. Too bad for Bluffton, we used to have a good place to go eat breakfast. Will be a long time if ever...
