What a fantastic diamond in the rough! The building looks like your standard roadside diner, yet the food offered within is extraordinary. I ordered the 2-meat platter, which comes with two sides. From the many meat options, I chose brisket and ribs. For my sides, I elected the mac & cheese and coleslaw.
The BBQ brisket had a deep smoky flavor that was delicious even without adding sauce. No knife needed here as the beef separated with the slightest pressure from my plastic fork. On the table were four sauces to choose from: Tangy; Sue Tang; Classic; Sweet & Smoky. I tried them all. Most were too sweet for me. Sue Tang was my favorite. The BBQ ribs were truly falling off the bone. A single stab from my fork between two ribs caused all the meat in that area to separate from the bones in two large chunks. The flavor was fantastic. I love a good brisket. It is almost always my favorite when offered, but in this case, the ribs got first prize.
The mac & cheese was tasty and only lacked temperature. The coleslaw was creamy with a kick, just as promised. This is exactly the way I like my coleslaw.
Service here was served with a smile and each employee seemed to sincerely appreciate and enjoy their work. Multiple pie options were available, but I decided to save those for my next visit. Do your taste buds a favor and visit this fine...
Read moreI am a BBQ addict. I found yergys on accident. I commute to Bluffton for work, Fort Wayne is my home. There are many barbecue options in Fort Wayne many are good but none come close and comparison to yergys BBQ. Although I do not miss my former job in Bluffton I now find myself driving to Bluffton only for large carryout orders here. I consider by the pound an amazing savings and purchase in bulk it's simple to freeze it and bring out a taste of summer barbecue anytime. It's so good I can't even be mad that they're closed half the time this is a mom-and-pop operation and it's good to see that they can have great booming business and balance it with quality family time. I do highly recommend that you order any meals in advance especially if it's past lunch time because they do run out frequently due to high demand. I will say there is nothing worse then having visions of barbecue, a raging appetite, only to learn that you cannot go home with what you came for. That being said there's really no lost when you go for brisket and leave with pulled pork LOL. When supplies are low they do temporarily suspend by the pound sales. This is to preserve supplies on hand until they have made more which is the other reason I highly recommend to prevent your disappointment that you order in advance. They will sell your...
Read moreWe had the ribs platter and burnt ends platter with coleslaw, fries, baked beans, and Mac and cheese with peach cream pie for dessert. Everything was excellent! Ribs fell right off the bone and burnt ends were big, tasty, and tender. Although the Mac and cheese was a bit average which was perfect for my one and 3 year olds who also loved the beans and fries respectively. Would have been nice if they had told us about the baby chairs around the corner which we only found once meal was mostly gone when toddler had to find the bathroom. Plus the room was pretty hot from afternoon sun (and wrangling a 1 year old determined to feed himself baked beans and Mac and cheese before said high chair was procured) 😅 Would go back immediately to eat everything again, especially the peach cream pie 🤤 mmm and that spicy coleslaw and extra crispy waffle fries... Yep, everything, and I'd douse that bland Mac and cheese with the awesome Classic BBQ sauce they have on the table and I...
