I went in to get gelato while my son was working Joe (the owner) became incredible condescending and passive aggressive toward both my son and to me. Despite there being no other customers Joe made it very clear that families are not welcome. I will not be visiting here again and will share with others the experience I had there the past two times I went in as a paying customer. Update: I should clarify that this (and the other time I came in) were no where close to an extended personal visit. I purchased gelato and the treatment we both received from Joe began promptly when I had only said hello to my son. There was nothing polite about the statements made by Joe.
It is sad to think that your management and leadership feel it is appropriate in any circumstance to treat others with disrespect. If the expectation set by you is that your employees ignore anyone they know who may be shopping, I might suggest not being in customer service. She is now 11 years old and we have been planning another visit during our vacation this summer. We have visited the website at least 10 times in the past 3 weeks during our planning and never saw anything about the closure and remodel of your shop. My two daughters 11 & 7 were very disappointed. While we sat in your back parking lot trying to figure out other plans we watched two different families with kids equaling 7 in total walked around to the front of your building all excited and coming back minutes later with heads down and some even crying. Read moreSo, the candy is nice. Quite an assortment. But the manager or owner, whoever I talked to on the phone, is AWESOME! I thought I had payed for and then forgotten a couple soda pops there. I called but got an answering machine. I felt silly leaving a message about a couple drinks. But they called me back and was able to look up my purchase to confirm that they didn't get rung up. I must have set them on the counter but forgot to hand them to the cashier. Most likely my fault. BUT they were so interested in me having a good experience there that they wanted to take responsibility for it and treat me to the sodas. I politely declined but let her know that I appreciated the kind gesture. Seriously, this is THE example of good customer service. We're talking about two soda pops.
