Lovejoy's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Boise

I stopped by this ice cream shop with my kids because they insisted that it was a good place. I was immediately impressed with the large selection of flavors (probably close to 30) and the cool menus. I ordered the caramel ice cream, and really enjoyed it. Very creamy and rich. The staff was really attentive and respectful as well, which is always appreciated. I also appreciated that there was a small play area for the kids to pretend to create and serve ice-cream.

My only dislike is the severe decoration style of the eating areas. The whole minimalist modern look is uninviting and cold. That style also has seriously uncomfortable furniture as well. All in all, it isn't worth deducting a star though because the ice cream was delicious and the...

Absolutely incredible ice cream! I’m not from the area, so I can’t vouch for whether this is better than the other Lovejoy’s branch or not, but I can definitely say this would be worth a visit.

The flavors are very rich yet well balanced, with thick ice cream and respectable portion sizes that are sure to satisfy (seriously, the folks serving me absolutely heaped the ice cream in, see pics for reference).

ICE CREAM: This ice cream has a milk-forward balance. It's not a deep creamy but rather a slightly more airy flavor, which absolutely nails fruit and cookie flavors. With the reduced richness from heavier counterparts, it allows your palate to take in more nuance within flavors that involve fruit or cookies.
