What a gem. My parents live in this area and whenever we visit we try to find a new place to try... but none of them have been like this. When we visited, it was their third weekend in operation, so keep in mind that the place is new - the service took a little bit, they don't have a full liquor license yet, etc. But none of these things took away from the good vibes and better food.
I don't know where they found this chef, but everything we had was fantastic. The venison and chicken appetizers were both great and pretty decent portions. For dinner, we had the red curry duck, the steak frites, the salmon risotto, and the pasta prima - you couldn't go wrong with any of them and the duck was especially flavorful. After the two fairly large appetizers, we went home with leftovers (and everything was just as good the next day). The donuts were a decadent dessert that I have not stopped thinking about.
As an additional important note, the host who met us when we arrived was very friendly and pleasant - and over the course of the evening, we observed him helping out with every aspect of the operation, including cleaning and setting tables. I looked the restaurant up later and it turns out he's one of the two brothers who owns the place. Travis, thank you very much - I worked in customer service for a long time and it's a great sign when the owner leads by example the...

The venison is absolutely outstanding- tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. It’s one of those dishes you remember long after the meal. The trout is another highlight- fresh, delicate, and beautifully seasoned, with sides that complement it perfectly. You can tell real care goes into every detail of the food.
And I have to mention the gluten-free coffee oreo cookies... Even if you don’t eat gluten-free regularly, these are incredible: soft, rich, and packed with flavor. They’re the perfect sweet finish to a memorable meal.
