We dined in one week after opening. Visit #1 dine in. Mongolian beef was WAY overcooked and chewy. Lomein was very good, crab ragoons were hot and fully stuffed=yum. Hot and sour soup very flavorful and spicy. Visit #2 take out. Chicken Lomein and chicken and veggies Very tasty! Crab ragoons, nicely stuffed. Yum! #3 visit. Take out order also decent. Shrimp and veggies and chic Lomein. Crab Rangoon, not very full..but still tasty. Egg rolls are getting smaller. Visit#4 take out tonight, not sure I'll go back again. Sesame shrimp was way over cooked! Breading was nearly black and the shrimp was rubbery. They had to know it wasn't going to be good when they dished it up. Barely edible and $16! Hardly any sauce. Crab ragoons were nearly flat/no stuffing and very chewy. Like a teaspoon of filling in the whole wrapper. Soups were good and Lomein...has always been good. Egg rolls have also gone from fully stuffed and tasty to mostly wrapper / no filling and tasteless. Honestly overall it's slipped down with each visit to mediocre food. I was so happy to have a Chinese restaurant close, but I think we will head to Lucky Bamboo or Jade Garden for more reasonably priced, more flavorful food I really wanted to like it, but each time seems like flavor and quality is going down. Pretty pricey for average / sometimes...
Read moreAfter doing some moving yesterday, we stopped by for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how nice this restaurant was. It was very clean and modern feeling inside and the food was good.
We had the Pork Fried Rice meal and the Hot Braised Pork with Steamed Rice meal. Each came with a starter of soup (Egg Drop) and an egg roll. The soup was good. It had a good consistency and flavor. The egg roll was fine. Very middle of the road.
As for the meals, the Pork Fried Rice actually tasted “fried” and I really enjoyed the larger pork pieces in it. Sometimes places like to skimp on the meat portions in fried rice, but not here. My husband got the Hot Braised Pork and it was very tasty. The sauce was excellent and the pork was not dried out after being fried. He only did 2 stars for spice this time, as a test, and we both agreed that we could go to a higher spice level next time.
We will definitely back. As our first restaurant experience in Bondurant, this was a...
Read moreFrom the minute our group walked in and were seated until we left a couple of hours later, the staff was so friendly and kind. We all ordered an entree and drink and our soup was quickly brought out, steaming hot and fresh. The egg rolls were served with the soup and while I’m not a huge fan of egg rolls, they were delicious! I had Empress Chicken with fried rice and it was absolutely perfect! Not spicy really, very good flavor, fresh vegetables, sauce and rice. The crab rangoons were too die for, and came out so quickly! Our party also ordered Mongolian Beef, Cashew Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. All were very freshly made, piping hot and delicious. The staff is very kind and welcoming and the portions are large. The place is very clean and you can tell the community loves it- lots of to go orders being picked up while we sat and ate and talked. Overall, a really great place, and a nice addition to the...
